  1. Awesome work mate, Love the photos. The best way to conquer the memories is to get straight back too it. Even better on the fly. Im still yet to land a fish on the fly. But ima trying again tomorrow. For trout as well
  2. Im in the same boat as you mate, Ive landed pleanty of snook land based but in the kayak had no results, tried lots of different hard bodies too no luck using the X-wraps (been using the olive green colour) Think soft plastics might by worth while a shot, either that or im not timing the drift / speed correcrtly
  3. Oh Pufferfish...Spent 8 hours off St. Kilda today to receive a never ending battle invasion of Pufferfish. There was KGW around which liked to check the bait out however the Puffers would come over and smash it before the KGW had a chance too.So I think, no this doesnt necessarily mean that if they are around there is no other fish, however if they are around they will get to your bait quicker than any of your target fish.
  4. Port Rickaby is good mate, in the summer months i've caught YFW and squid, and from my past experiences anyway it doesnt get as packed as some other jetties along the yorkes. Also maybe worth mentioning, Port Hughes if you havent already been?
  5. Definitely no luck yet on my side, trying Onk, Westlakes and Coorong with nothing yet. Nearly got one drifting hard bodies in the Coorong. Was shattered after I lost him, I then seen a commercial fisherman pull up a net that had 2 mullies atleast 1m each Love the photo Jack
  6. Great when you randomly bump into other members from the site to find out later on it was them.Great photos there, Outer Harbor hold some good fish, but man its hard on the body and fishing gear/tackle
  7. Wow, this is the first time I have ever heard of this, great idea.
  8. Are you sure your not confusing the fish for a school mulloway?? 60cm is very possible and they have a yellowish colour on there fins. look completely different, however they are found throughout the lake, much more so than a 60cm bream.Just my 2c anyways.
  9. Hey Styla. The only shop that I am aware of in Adelaide that sells anything related to fly fishing, which is where I shop for my fly goodies, is a place called, 'Fishermans paradise' It is located on Gouger St, in the city mate. Next door to the Adelaide gun shop. Hope that helps.
  10. Jack and kelvin... Man you guys put forward some information that is invaluable to a new comer great work! Love the way you both illustrated your selves also! Re: 'bigger fish, more time' such an accurate comment... So so many hours for a decent sized fish... Waiting for the sun to rise on outer harbor break water is definitely challenging If your a newbie and wana go for the odd bigger fish but still have fun with smaller stuff on the side, yeah westlakes has your name on it!
  11. That's a brilliant report mate, love the setup you've got going on man... Good work on the snapper on lures too mate, definitely feels rewarding no denying that!
  12. I can definitely vouch for the pfluger trion as a good whiting rod, i use it all round as a light setup. :)Off seacliff / marino where i frequent quite regularly, i opt for super light, 4lb braid and either 4 or 6lB leader. If you find the whiting hit or miss chuck on a berly spring and knuckle a few tommies, thats what i tend to do if there is no luck upon arrival. Of recent times my self personally have found it more active off the shoreline closer towards brighton than towards Marino.
  13. Some great photos been uploaded, looks fantastic. My favourtie style of fishing would have to be broken down into three catagories but i would have to say, most would fall around the time just prior to sunset (around 7:00pm in the summer time) this just brings out the magic of nature in my opinion. 1. Kayak fishing - particularly with plastics on light gear, drifiting through the estauries is pretty briliant, with or without company. to me doing their is not many things out there that are this relaxing. Particularly lanucing the kayak from south road in the Onk and paddling upwards towards old
  14. Nailed pleanty of salt water fish on soft plastics but never once landed a fresh water fish on plastics, infact last night I spent 2 hours chasing fresh water critters. Tend to think this is because there was nothing around and my spots are rather crappy! Is the retrieve and action performed in freshwater the same as what you would use when chasing bream?? Sounds like it anyway?
  15. I have caught them in both westlakes and the onk (onk closer towards the ocean) only very very small though! From time to time when I have used the daiwa double clutch HB ( this lure particularly) I have seen many flounder follow the lure in, however no takers
