  1. I have to agree with URH. Just because it is "there" doe not mean it has to be fished. It's a fish haven.People have gotten on without fishing it.Once it is opened up it would never be the same - Look at PT Noarlunga Jetty, many a fruitless day spent dropping a line there!People are accustomed to not fishing it, better this than an increase in those dreaded Marine Parks.A few diving friends have seen a very rich population near Pt Stanvac Jetty, much more than Pt Noarlunga Jetty.
  2. Unfortunately I would rather not see the jetty open for fishing.Sorry to land based anglers as I know you need more fishing spots.I firmly believe the area around the jetty is a fish haven for breeding and just resting up - dare I say a "Marine Park"??Fishing that area hard could yet again put a nail in our already fragile metro fish stock.
  3. Sorry I can't stop watching the GIF on your post. Hypnotizing..............
  4. I suppose for me it was a 9.5kg ******,when we were ******** on *** ****** on ******* boat.My First large ******!!!Took me 20 minutes to reel the B*****d in!!!Great fun - thanks ******!!!The most memorable ****** I have caught!!!!
  5. I too saw the type of boat and the weather - but agree with Just Me.Condolences to the families.
  6. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good fishing charter in Cairns. Be interested to hear any tip and experiences. Interested in having a go for Marlin. I'm up there next week for a few days.
  7. I'm not a big fish eater at all.Partial to a bit of Flathead.Or Snapper, either in a really wonderful fish pie that Mrs Tyke makes or in a Green Thai curry ( big chunks of snapper shallow fried and chucked in at the last minute)Mrs Tyke loves fish and so do most of our friends - it will never go to waste.Agree with Jack's comment on Squid,Gar and Tommies.......... :P
  8. Probably a Friday??We were out in that muck - but came in against that crappy easterly blowing rain so hard you could not see.Not a good thing in a boat!
  9. If you look on Willyweather at the moment there is a bit of a mistake (well I hope so!)539.6 knots at 10.30pm tonight!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
  10. Certainly affects me as a boat fisho.Just driven up the Esplanade through Brighton and errr....... I ain't going out for a few days, even though I have the free time.At least this blow will stir the fish up.A fave Snapper spot of mine should fire up after such weather Need some flat ,calm weather straight after though as it's a long trip.
  11. That's because he's a pretty good fisherman  oh yeah...and he's got heaps of 30lbers since...can't forget that one:S :whistle:ranger my mate uses this site. seen it getting out of hand the other day though id sign up. here is my biggest snapper to date caught off glenelg last winter. 15.6 plus kilo weighed 7 hours after. it will be hard to beat this pb.Well done on that fish.I'm confused though??Seen it getting out of hand??How??Are you dashing in with a superhero fisherman manner to save us all.I await with bated (or is that "Baited") breath??
  12. My best fish??All caught in "Gentleman's hours" with strong tides ;) ... and you got them without my trusty downrigger and 12 pound weight  "Grasshopper" has perhaps emerged from the Chrysalis now ( well perhaps one leg).Only got a lifetime + of fishing to learn!
