Deep or shallow water..? Structure or heavy reef involved??in the gulf or down south (cae jervis styles)..?? In our gulf i use 5-8kg 6.5ft with an oc4000 with 20lb an i use this on metre plus fish..not alot of structure an only 16.5mtrs..if in shallow water then i use 12-15lb mainline..or 30-50lb in deep water..30+ mtres..

Smack on the money..start westlakes..plenty to b had an much safer then jetties..and more productive i might add...as for cheap combos...i play with a 30 dollar elcheapo 2-4kg from kmart an have landed my biggest mully yet 7.6kg..so elcheapos always come in handy..great for squiding too.. Look i dont know exactly but i would be goin for the deepest water in immediate area ..an burley hard...top lefthand side lookin north looks ok ...all i remember growin up was big snapper cockle spit...at right time an right place im sure it stil fires hard..its just a matter of puttin in the hours to find out when that is..i know people who used to catch thumpers of germein jetty at certain time an weather patterns..just remember fish have fins an reds are absolute pigs...😉 Cheerz avids😆

My cousin use to smash monster snapper at cockle spit..in his tinnie...i used to be on germein jetty an watch an wave as he headed out..generally hed only ever go for hour or so ..then he would hold fish up as he was goin back past to go home...aghh the good ol days..😞 Cheers.

As light as possible for bream 4-6 lb mainline with 6 lb fluoro leader i use...an smallest hooks possible..very finicky fish those bream... As for trouties..slightly bigger hooks as they hav big mouth for there size..an good place to start bait wise for both is whitebait.. Avids

Hi..from nth havin ur best bet ist to probly target sum yfw which ul find metro atm..baitwise..live bungum or tube worms work best..try in close gutters to shore..really calm days can see gd amounts of gar an even tommies straight from the shore aswell..gd luk a post how u go..cheers avids
