Have any of you guys seen the nitro burley mix from how's ya tackle? I picked up a bag of it and will give it a try on the weekend. Apparently it's full of stimulants and pheromones and when it goes in the water, releases a green substance so you can see where your burley is going. I'm not sure if it's just a gimic or really works - will test it over a couple of sessions If it doesn't do the job, i'll add some tuna oil to the mix

Yes, they are still there - i see his sign up all the time around there. Never bought any from him - i stocked up on a lot before the dorsalfin shut down a couple of years ago.Although may need some later in the year!

There are definitely a few different designs out there!

Brilliant idea I make a lot of burley pots and have a lot of customers who want one that opens up at the bottom. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to work, as the design I want to use has a two kilo base but will have another play around during the Christmas break David

We won't really know how the laws will be implemented by the fisheries officers - but I'm sure we'll have a few test cases until it is settled. A spot that we have, you also get mulloway and snapper - but the mullies will only touch a live bait. If you use dead bait, you pick up the snapper! But to have kings in that mix - god that sounds like an amazing spot David

Crazy but i have to attend a birthday party that starts at 2pm! He can't stand footy - will be interesting to see how many people attend! I for one will be streaming some of the game on my phone Not that i support either team but still an important game

With rods, I generally stay with the bigger brands and don't spend more than $100. With reels, I also stick with brands - particularly in the bigger models that have a bait runner function. With the smaller ones, I also stick with a brand but try to get them as cheap as possible. I used to get them from the states but with the dollar the way it is, not worth it anymore. Given this, I normally wait for the big sales (such as complete angler) and when they have them running out (normally between $20 and $30), I'll buy a dozen of them. Yes, they might only last a few seasons before dyi

Guess the Doobie Burley Mix Ingredients Competition.
David_C replied to doobie's topic in Strike & Hook Competitions
Looks like gold For my burley mix, i use 2 cans of cat foot (sardine and pilchard), breadcrumbs, tuna oil and water. -
Low tide is best but really depends on the area. I get them around outer harbour but have heard of people getting them around somerton park (south). They do work well metro but spots are kept as secret as possible, as they can be overfished very easily

I would suggest Brighton Tackle and Bait or Fishing Wholesalers. I've tried beach worming but have onky got a couple in a few hours. In the same time, my mate will get 50+ - he doesn't miss many worms he targets. I used to get tube worms near the subbase but haven't been there for around a decade! Seaweed worms can be plentiful but normally only look for them on yorkes. The other option you have is to get a good quality bait pump and get some nippers. Fish love them and they are plentiful if you keep your eye out for their holes

Hi all If you are one of the lucky ones to be holidaying on Yorkes at the moment or are one of the even luckier ones who permanently live on Yorkes, come and say hello to me and my wife at the Kadina Markets on January 19th. I will have most of my range of sinkers available and will also be taking pre-orders. I will also be doing a special price on the sinkers for the market as well This is a new experience for me and if this is successful, we may be doing a few more markets on yorkes as well. Just hope that the weather plays ball, as I may be taking the fishing roads, for a s

Hi Blanikman My favourite baits are squid heads or fillets of salmon and for the ruggers, pillies

Hey mate I have found the snapper in metro adelaide a bit slow in the last few years but they are still around - just in smaller numbers. I suggest joining a fishing club (I'm part of the NDSFC), as you get a lot of help and can tap into some unreal knowledge (and if you are lucky, some closely guarded marks). There are also guys who do fishing tuition, such as Brad Corrie and John Winslet (ex charter operator), who are also also brilliant and have their fingers on the pulse of the local scene. The link you send seems to be quite old and dated... David

I've got a SUV and I normally head between 5 to 7 kms down the beach. You can just seem them rolling in the surf and there is no pressure from others. With the smaller limits though, you can definitely get them in good numbers without taking the car. David
