  1. Finally alive again after almost a month with no internet after the relocation back to the Steelcity. In that time Ive had a few questions just eating away at me, so in a quest to find the answers, went to a local tackle store only to have more questions arise. The questions are regarding leaving crabnets unattended, more importantly "Drop Nets" (2 metal rings) apposed to "Hoop Nets" (1 metal ring). What I'm wanting to do is drop them off on the way out fishing and pick them up on the way back in.I was told that you can do this with hoop nets but not drop nets. 4. The second is at night taken with the flash. Both photos were taken with the same camera. You can see the colour difference in colour. Hope this puts an end to your myth for you.CheersPaul http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/oxeTHCug__Picture_199a.JPG[/img]
  5. Got a couple of photos that may help ya out with it. Both are taken under Edithburgh Jetty in the same depth around 10m. The first was taken during the day using only natural light (No Flash) of a red mullet. http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/wXigROJC__Picture_040a.JPG[/img]
  6. I dont know if it helps catching fish, but I use the red beads to help sight my hook quickly. As for the colour bead used to attract fish anything under about 10m is green or blue in colour. As light travels deeper into the water the colours that make up white light are absorbed, starting with Red then Orange, Yellow Etc. So as for the colour I dont think it matters. It does help you sight your hook though and it doesn't scare the fish, so I'll keep using them. {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gifCheersPaul
  7. Didn't get 4... Never heard of the place. Where abouts is it?CheersPaul
  8. What Utter bull, Way to show off your ecconomic credentials and totally ignore the situation of world economy. I personally attribute the downturn to Geelong winning the premiership! it makes as much sense! {SMILIES_PATH}/rolleyes.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/rolleyes.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/rolleyes.gif My oath!!! 90% of Australia's fishermen and women are Geelong supporters {SMILIES_PATH}/rolleyes.gif so when Geelong won the premiership they stopped buying fishing tackle and started buying Premiership memorabilia, sending Tackle store under!!! {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif {SMILIES_P
  9. The internet (Ebay...etc) would have a lot to do with it along with your big variety stores (K-Mart) having a better quailty (than what they use to stock, not better than tackle stores) and having more buying power than any smaller store. Maybe the scare of there being no fish in 40 years has scared them out of business.... {SMILIES_PATH}/undecided.gifCheersPaul
  10. Took this under the Edithburgh Jetty.
  11. Have to convince these KGW to start taking them now that Cockles Pipis Cockles are shotting up in price. As for digging them, I've seen people digging for worms, opposite the St Kilda Channel, on I think its Torrens island. I dont know how legal it is though. CheersPaul
  12. More to the point does it occur in the Spencer Gulf? (Whyalla, Pt Pirie, Cowell) I still giggle over that one mate! The poor bugger must have been freezin, but hey, when someone tells ya that ya need a LONG handled net, and you've never even tried this worming before, maybe it pays to actually LISTEN rather than leaning as far over the gunnel as ya can wiv a piddly little handle Ranger has shortened to stop your incessant whinging! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gifI forget how cold the water was that night, but from the look on his face, I'd say about -1001 celcius. {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gifIn regar
  13. Have a question reguarding The Bloodworm Run coming up soon in June, July. I know they run out from the mangroves around the Port river, so my question is does this occurance happen anywhere else or is it just local to the metro area?CheersPaul
  14. What about some jail time for these losers???? {SMILIES_PATH}/angry.gif:(" title="Angry" />
