  1. First decent fish of the year, and first decent fish to run in my new 1lb outfit I got for Christmas... Very happy with both!! 1lb fire line 3lb nitlon dfc leeder in the Torrens.
  2. Yeah, might have trouble ever moving you're toes again if you went just yanking that hook out😮🙈 Definately be pulling tendons and other stuff you don't wanna be pulling out with it! Can't see any easy way of dealing with that one! Poor bugger!
  3. That's man is not well! Like kelvin said... You don't yank, and from personal experience... Once you get to the barb... That's where the fun begins. I don't recommend pulling it through. I found sliding a knife blade down and using that to push the skin away from the barb worked best for me. You'll end up doing some proper damage if you just rip it out!! That guys an absolute idiot!!
  4. Here's the south Aussie version 😄 A real looker! Must be the missing link.... If you believe in that crazy theory
  5. Think it's a lot to do with wind in this gulf... And the wind is a hard one to predict! Sometimes it speeds the tide up going in or out, or the other way. Or almost cancels it out even... And also makes it even higher or lower. I only know from prawning that even the marine radio, the one that's apparently most accurate for us to go by for determining weather it's unfishable (over 25knots) and gives announces it afew hours before we go, is not eaven 80% accurate on a good day and so close to the time, so I'm guessing over a day, it's open to the induviduals interpretation of all the data th
  6. sorry, im all carped out from disgussing in on fb all day.... not about to start fresh on the topic for a 3rd time...
  7. yeah.... low oxygen.... that must be what killed the pelicans and penguins.... or that algae irritating their gills... birds also have gills. and breethe underwater?! what a joke
  8. champion mate! great pics!! great read too! dont worry about that one that got away, I wasnt joking about that spot just make sure you pick a nice easy spot to land that stonker when ir comes! was wondering when id see some pics ftom there:)
  9. Dunno why he calls it a disease when they say a natural yet Unknown event.... IMO, contamination is the only possible cause. The penguins and Pelicans would only be effected from eating contaminated fish? And for their tests not to have found anything... To me, is clearly saying that they were fully aware of the risks, possible outcomes, but won't ever admit that they pushed the profit margins alittle too far, and are now trying to cover their own arses. But, thats just my opinion...
  10. mullet and shitties eat anyghing bream love salted, frozen... infact, I dont think ive cahsed fussier fish than metro yellowfin! I get 4-5 days outvof my worms before they die.
  11. Always wondered what they were👍🏻
  12. heres a strange 1 from the gulf
  13. Fishing can be like that sometimes... It's kind of like any carp fisho will tell you corn is an excellent bait! And I've seen plenty caught on corn.... But I have yet to catch a single carp on corn myself? and I've tried corn a good 30-40 times! Only ever caught 1 catfish on it... I got no idea why, and if I didn't know better, I'd say it wasn't even worth trying... It just goes like that sometimes?! Guess you just never know what will work for you until you try it yourself... Maybe the ones at my spots have just been spoilt by me always using fresh live worms? Have had
  14. I gave up on that 1... Can preserve them well enough, but when it comes to yellowfin whiting, you're better off with frozen peeled prawns! They turn their noses up at worms that aren't live in my experience. The small ones don't mind them sometimes, but mostly it's not eaven worth going fishing for them without live bait! Or very fresh frozen prawns/shrimps around the new moon especially.
  15. I'll have to give that a go! Thanks archerfish!
  16. Yeah, I tried that too... But the ones at gawler are on steroids or something! Sprayed it on them directly eaven and they just kept coming! Didn't even slow them down!
  17. No, but put me down for a case when you find one Last time I was fishing the mangroves had to use my keepnet over my head to stop myself going insane from the bastards! Tried even surface spray on them, which also did absolutely nothing but make them taste eaven worse when they fly in my mouth! Don't k ow how those country folks do it!
  18. Wow! Those will be hard to beat!!! Well done!
