  1. METRO Plenty of crabs being caught between Largs Bay and Semaphore and extends down as far as Brighton. Whiting are on the improve with good catches from a college down at Brighton and there has been some good catches out from the Black Pole. Garfish are still prolific but again reluctant to bite, but there is at least a feed to be had. Squid showed up down the southern grounds south of Glenelg along with some nice snook. Snook are also being caught near the grounds between the silt grounds and the shipping channel. Port river has bream, a sprinkle of salmon trout in the North Arm and some
  2. METRO Crabs are doing very well with most getting their limits before lunch. Semaphore, Largs and south of the Silt grounds being the better places but they are getting them south also. Whiting catches have been on the improve with nice fish being caught south of Brighton, Grange, the Norma (Late arvo) and north of St Kilda has been doing very well. Garfish are biting best down south with fish around Semaphore and Largs have been reluctant to take the hook. Try out deeper around the cabbage patch and Norma for better catches.Squid have been slow but with the big blow last week things should im
  3. METRO Plenty of crabs are coming in from St Kilda to as far south as West Beach. Some promising news is the whiting are picking up with bag limits at St Kilda all the way down south. Squid have been slow but there is a feed out from Bower Road in deeper water along with West Beach and a few at Brighton. Garfish up north are still reluctant to bite but many years ago I used to die my gents in Red, Green and Blue. I am going to try to get some available for people to try in the next 3-4 weeks. They were killers when we used them and hopefully will be the same today, especially off the jetties. J
  4. METRO Southern areas like Brighton have been fairing well on the garfish while in other areas they have been reluctant to bight. Trick is getting out there very early and also try the beaches early morning for the garfish as well. Crabs are still in good supply from the Silt grounds right down to Grange and beyond. Shipping channel and off the breakwaters are also producing a feed. Jetty anglers are also getting a feed of crabs, tommies and some garfish at night during the faster tides. Whiting are around off Grange but not in big numbers. Snapper have been slow in close around the metro area
  5. METRO There is plenty of crabs on offer with best catches coming from Largs and Semaphore along with some nice crabs from the shipping channel. This means there can be some good snapper in the same area. Garfish around Semaphore are plentiful but are reluctant to bite. Down south is best around West Beach and Brighton. Snapper are still in good numbers around O'Sullivans but north has slowed. Plenty are being caught some 20+ kms west of North Haven. Squid have been consistent around the Grange to Brighton area. Crabs continue to improve off Largs and Semaphore and even out from Glenelg but the garfish are hard to catch while there is plenty out there. people fishing off the beach near Tennyson have been doing better on the garfish early mornings.Whiting are slow but there is a few out new the farewell beacon and off the cabbage patch early mornings. West Lakes has been producing some nice bream along with a few mulloway. Port River
  7. METRO Crabs have been in good numbers off Semaphore, Largs, St Kilda, North of Black Pole and even off Glenelg. Snapper season went off with a bang with most people getting some nice fish before the tides slowed. Now that the tides have picked up they should be back on the bite. The Broadway had some nice fish along with some fish coming off the John Robb and up near the Goannas. Garfish have been large but reluctant to continue to bite around the Semaphore grounds but better catches have been coming from West Beach and Brighton. Whiting catches have been slow but there are fish out from West
  8. METROSome good reports have come in with fish being caught around the Broadway and Brighton. Kayaks have been doing well also. Best times is very early morning or late afternoons. Fish are ranging from big ruggers to just over the 60cm mark. From North Haven there are some nice fish west around 25-30kms out. John Rob and the Ballast at night are always worth a try. Burley lots to get them going. Crabs have only got better and are as far south as Glenelg. Try down there and betwenn Semaphore and Largs. While garfish are finiky north they are biting better south around West Beach and Glenelg. So

Garfish have been biting well in some areas and reluctant in others. The section Bank has been doing well along with the area between Semaphore and Largs Jetty. This weekend should be good off the jetty at night for garfish and crabs. A friend bagged in the shipping channel off the breakwater for crabs 2 weeks ago. Snook are still around in shallow but they are only taking deep divers (Duel Hardcore pilchard). There is also some nice snook off the jetties late afterno
  10. METRO Some great catches of yellowfin came from the metro coast and on the northern beaches around Thompson's they are also getting some nice fish at St Kilda. Whiting are thinning out but for some they are still getting a feed around the Grange Tyre Reef, The patches off Brighton on 5 metre range and some nice ones just north of the Black Pole (Limit burley as it will attact the unwanted in this area and also use running rigs to keep the bait low). Some big mulloway have been caught in the Port River with 1 going near the 70 pound mark. Kings are still being spotted but have been reluctant to

  13. METRO Most of the beaches have been good on the yellowfin and it looks as though they are moving in big time. Nice bream are being caught in West Lakes as Ethan and Riley has already shown us. So take the kids out for a fish this weekend and try near the rowing club. I'm sure the kids will have a great day.Brighton is still turning it on for garfish and squid along with some king george whiting on the patches. Grange
  14. METRO Brighton is still doing well on the squid and garfish including the jetty early mornings. Semaphore and Largs has plenty of garfish but are slow to bite. Try different baits like silverfish and even tommie flesh as an alternative to gents and try going deeper with your rig. Crabs are doing well around Semaphore, Largs, Silt Grounds and north around Port Gawler and beyond. Size is still a bit of a problem but there is some big ones in amongst them. Our customers have been doing well on the Koota Heads and the new Pilchards we have due to their high oil content. Whiting have been slow but
  15. I quick report and a few techniques. Nothing fancy but thought I'd just get this comp rolling....... Had a call from my chief fishing buddy yesterday that he'd just bagged out squiding his local metro wading spot. Same as this time last year, where he recons they must have been spawning, were there 2 days and then gone. With conditions still favorable and hoping that '2nd day' was today, I decided to check out his home grounds. Water was lovely and clear and warm enough to leave the wetsuit behind. I was expecting wind to drop as it changed direction. Things were looking pretty goo
  16. METRO Crabs have been plentiful but the size has been small. Try deeper water even as deep as the Norma should bring better results. Garfish have been doing well off Brighton as well as squid. Out in the boat they vary in size. Better catches have been Brighton, West Beach and Grange. Snook have really turned on this year and while they aren't the best eating fish, when fresh and coated in PANKO bread crumbs they are delicious. Had some we caught at Port Vic on the weekend and they were as good as the whiting (And better for you). Squid are still firing pretty well, as I said Brighton jetty ha
  17. METRO Signs of crabs improving with better catches coming in. Some areas like Semaphore are still working hard to get a feed of legal ones. Deeper water around the 7-8 metre mark are producing better size. North of the black pole are doing better but again out in deeper water. The northern beaches are fairing the best with good size crabs and even a few for the rakers. Garfish are steadily getting better along with some nice tommies. Try Brighton, Grange, Semaphore, Silt grounds, Black pole and Port Gawler. Some ruggers are starting to filter in around Brighton and this weekends tides should i

  19. Sorry guys n girls, I'm a bit late passing this on this week due to family health issues. METRO Garfish have been spasmodic but there is a feed at Semaphore, Bower road ground and some at the silt grounds. Norma is also worth a try as well. Whiting have been in good numbers around Hendley and Brighton areas on the patches in 5-6 metres of water. Nice ruggers are near the broadway and just north of Brighton jetty. Squid seem to be in good numbers from Brighton and upto the silt grounds. Crabs are mixed sizes but there is a feed around. Best spots for the crabs have come from the Semaphore a
  20. METRO The broadway is showing signs of some good ruggers showing up. The bag ground and Grange is doing well late afternoons on the whiting. While pletty of garfish size have varied but there should be some good catches around. Tommies have moved in but size is a problem. Nice size for snapper but not quite right for the smoker. You have to work through the small ones. Snook have come in to spawn so trawl in waters of 2.5 - 3 metres of water for best results. Squid are still in good numbers. Port river saw salmon trout and a few mullet in the channels. Mulloway have been thin. West Lakes have

Snook have been caught in deeper waters around east of the shipping channel and out from Semaphore. Blue crabs are making their way in with crabs caught around the silt grounds, North of Port Gawler and Semaphore. They are mainly in 6-7 metres of water. Port River and St k

METRO Some nice whiting are still being caught and this weekend tides will give you more time to get them. Grange tyre reef had whiting in small spurts but should be good this weekend with slower tides. Whiting are still being caught in around the 6 metre mark south of West Beach. The footy park ground has also produced some nice fish on the reef. Nice ruggers have moved in around Glenelg and Brighton. There are some garfish just in closer from the Semaphore reef but they are no
