GrumpyOldMan 0
A bit of advice please.I have the above rod bought to go with an old Shakespeare President II which has died. Rather than get it repaired I wondered if anyone could advise a BUDGET OH reel to match it to.I don't have a lot of funds so don't want to spend more than about $100.Anyone got any ideas? GrumpyOldMan 0
Sorry. It's 10ft lt/med action 6/15kg line class. Most use is casting bait/lures beach (not surf) or estuary. Mostly Salmon/Salmon trout mulies. Depends on where I am & what weight of lure. Up to about 40g. The old reel would work just as well with bait for bream or flathead or plastics from about 10g head up to 28g for whatever happened along.Hope that helps.

USSR 0
perhaps get the old one fixed at a reputable dealer???????
GrumpyOldMan 0
Yeah. Took it down to the shop today. They are having a look to see what's what. The reel was given to me by the wife of an old friend who died about 12 years ago so if it can be fixed I'll do some more fishing for him.The Rovex Bario rod I bought to match it is only a year old so I will buy another reel to match if needed. Too good a rod to sit gathering dust. Thanks for your comments.
