  2. I think the reason i like fishing was delivered to me yesterday, fathers day. Took the three kids and wife down to west lakes in the afternoon, set up the two nibble tip rods, baited up and cast out. Sat in the sand with my two daughters sitting on my lap and my son sitting next to me. First rod dips and line takes off, my two year old daughters expression is one of amazement. i give her the rod and she is connected to her first legal bream and first ever fish. we land it and let it go with a few squeals of excitement from the kids and rebait and cast. Second rod dips and my seven year old son hooks and lands another legal bream. It was supposed to be fathers day, i think it was about the best time fishing that i have had in a long time. The look on my kids faces and the time spent with family, that is the reason i like fishing.. Whilst my four year old daughter didn't catch anything, she just loved being there and having fun.

  3. Hey guys, i want some indication of numbers of people who go kayak fishing, what sort of craft they are using and where they mainly go..... Trying to convince the wife that it is a good idea for me to buy a kayak so i can get fitter and go fishing all at the same time. Sounds good in principal anyway. Have looked at Ocean kayaks Prowler elite 4.5 but it is damn expensive and looks difficult to manoeuvre in skinny water, open to all suggestions. Thanks

  4. I fish braid on my boat outfits for whiting and snapper, mono for lure casting off the beach and light weight fishing off the boat for gar etc.Mono for 15kg game gear and braid for jigging.braid for heavy bait fishing off the beach chasing sharks, stingers and mulloway......

  5. My favorite fishing style these days is walking down onto Almonta beach, light overhead casting rod, bumbag full of 18-20 ga lures and a pair of polaroids on my head. The sun is just beginning to rise and an awesome scene unfolds before me. Huge schools of Australian Salmon well within casting range as far as the eye can see. Hook on tat first lure and send out the first cast. Three winds of the handle and the rod buckles under the weight of a healthy salmon. The fight lasts for several minuters and the fish finally lays flapping at your feet, the sun now shines off the chrome bullets glistening body. Unhook the fish and watch it swim back out through the surf to it's mates. Cast again and watch the water spray off the line as it spills from the reel following the lure out to another waiting salmon. Three cranks and BANG your on again, time and time again. Forty five minutes and many fish later you turn, walk back up the sand hill and look back at the still swarming school of salmon, thinking to your self" can't wait to do this all over again tomorrow" OH yeah now thats what i call fishing.... I do like the sound of everyone else's styles too, must try them out sometime... size=602http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/7w8kHsjD__Resize_of_DSC_0038.JPG[/img]
