Ranger 48
I've got a pearler, but no pictures at this stage!Mine's an old electric boiler that came from a hospital (used for boiling linen in days gone by).Stainess steel bowl about the size of a washing machine. I plug it in, fill it with water, wait for it to heat and then I can cook about 50 crabs at a time, then a tap at the bottom allows me to drain the water. If I can get onto it, I'll take some pics at some stage! Guest undertaker
We use an old 18 gallon stainless steel beer keg,cut in half.......so I guess we've really got 2! with 3 short legs, about 6" long welded to the bottom. Then,a simple gas ring from the camping shops......the one with the 3 rings of flame and 3 gas taps......great heat regulating.Knocked up a lid out of 1/4" aluminium plate, and a basket out of chicken wire.Cook about 25 crabs at once.Works for me.Ranger, your's sounds a beauty too mate.I wish I'd held onto the old "gas copper" from my mum's old laundry.....that would've done the trick too.
