Bluegoose 0
OK guys i need your opinions. What is the best way to drift fishI had a debate last night with a mate I drop the lines straight off the boat and virtually bounce the bottom on one and the other i hold about a metre off the bottomMy mate says that in water under 3mtrs the fish will be spooked so i should cast away from the boat and drag the sinker
Ranger 48
If you're fishing for whiting or flathead, you want the weight on the bottom lifting little puffs of sand, as the whiting are inquisitive and the flathead are ambush hunters.Likewise, when drifting for whiting, it can pay to drag a small weight or short length of chain behind which serves the same purpose. Ranger 48
I first interpreted this question as being should the line be on the bottom or above the bottom. After rereading the post and realising the question actually asks whether the line should be directly below the boat or behind the boat, I too agree with your mate. The line should be dragged behind the boat.Apologies for my misinterpretation.
