JaySedivy 0
Hi all, we are going to Port Broughton this xmas and im keen to do some fishing, the kids will be coming so intending on hitting the jetties, can anyone offer any ideas on what to go for, and which is the best jetty to head for that way. Thanks Jay
CallopHunter 1
Hey man, assuming that this summer is a little warmer than last there will be some chow around even though they are a miner's fish they still taste great. Weedy whiting, Occasional squid and if you put in the time in the early hours some blueys. Also depending on the jetty closure due to shipping some small snapper around the end. Hope this helps
JaySedivy 0
it all helps cheers, i read somewhere the jetty was open at the end when no ships in and somewhere else said its closed due to damage from people, ill be happy just to catch a fish, but happier if we can eat it. JaySedivy 0
whats the best bait to use, i like using squid for the fact it stays on forever, cockles are expensive and ive never had anyluck with worms
CallopHunter 1
Yeah half the jetty closes due to fish coming in so just check flinders port website. depends on what you want to catch. Chow will readily take mince with semolina and curry powder. Whilst the whiting will take small baits like squid or mussels.
