nudenut 0
I have a 4.5m statesman half cab so looking for ideas that do not take up alot of room so i thought this may still work in a larger container.
Grumps 0
With a larger tub,I cant see why it wouldn't work... ;D
Guest matty_G
Gday mate, welcome to the site, great idea for a post.I personally would either use a round or oval type tank so that when your on the move the water swirls around in a circle it doesnt crash back and forth and cause your bait more stress. pescados 1
G'day Nudenut,Welcome to strike hook.Nice post and that should keep few people happy making it on a cold winter's day :icon_e_biggrin:
coonta kinta 1
Nudenut, depending on what size tank, and just how little room you want to loose to it, perhaps consider this. You will need a a large round plastic rubbish bin, a similar sized round plastic laundry basket (im sure you'll know the type) and a suitably sized inner tube. Oh and some rope because u dont want it floating away ;)Everything, should fit in and on top of the bin.The bin holds the water for you whilst you are underway. Also in the bin is the laundry basket with your livies. When you get to your spot, the laundry basket and livies come out of the bin, the inner tube is fitted to the basket so that it enables the basket to be mostly submerged and the lot is tied to the boat. Viola! constant fresh water for your livies and I'm sure the signals they give off to predators couldnt be a bad thing either ;)Hope that all makes sense to you :icon_cool:

coonta kinta 1
I also like your Idea Coonta Kinta great Idea and no running partsCant take credit for it mate. Seen it used to great effect out of a 13ft boat on the ST's which judging by the TLD25's in the rocket launcher were destined to be mulloway food :icon_cool:
tully 4
Love the DIY stuff. Here's a few pics of my livey tank, may give some of you a few ideas. Got this tank from Bunnings for about $25, it's some sort of mop bucket lol or something, comes with hinged lid and all.Mounted it outside the boat, doesn't take up any room there, and water overflow drains straight into sea. The odd shape of it fits the pod on the back of the Poly perfectly, which was a bonus. Have it mounted to transom by a sheet of polycarbonate which slides into a couple of slides so it is easily removable. http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/6Z5PWluP__bait_tank_from_boat_Small.JPG[/img] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/xngryNKM__bait_tank_from_rear_Small.JPG[/img] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/u1frPWpY__bait_tank_from_side_Small.JPG[/img] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/1YmAybON__bait_tank_mount_plate_Small.JPG[/img]
