vapor 0
hey guys, ive tried all sorts of ways to join light braid to a heavier leader and thought id share what i think is one of if not the strongest ways of going about it...the south african bimini twist to improved gt knot!the south african bimini twist:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjrV9gl3OkUthis version of the bimini is really easy to tie, strong as and very very low profile.btw i use 70 twists in 8lb braid.improved gt knot:http://www.fishingkaki.com/forum/files/improved_gt_knot_488.gifthis gt knot is really easy to do once you get the hang of it and its really low profile also, about the same as the slim beauty but i think a lot stronger and since you keep the whole loop of the bimini it wont slip
vb4me 1
Tried the bimini quite a bit now but I am preferring the aussie plait. Seems to work better for me. Do like the look of that gt knot so will give that one a go. Another knot to add to the arsenal
vapor 0
that modified gt is an awesome knot for light braid to heavy leader, harder a fish pulls the tighter the knot gets, wont slip and it shouldnt cut into the leader. it casts really well also.give it a go and let me know what ya think it will be handy to know how well it performs in different line classesthe bimini/gt is easy and quick enough to tie when its windy too.
