Just out of curiosity what size fish have you been able to catch using the lighter gear?

I decided to go back to the onk this morning instead haha, Only got a few small bream and 2 salmon trout (first time catching one) so now my PB for salmon trout is 16cm haha

Thanks guys Ill definitely pull it up with the line and hopefully that will do the trick! I might even take my general purpose 8ft jarvis walker rod with me and put the reel on that if im too worried. I wont be targeting anything specific at this stage, just wanting to go somewhere besides the onkaparinga river haha

Hey everyone i have a generation black v2 rod (wild weasel) i know its a lighter class rod but i was wondering if it would still be strong enough for the odd fish off the jetty? The specs of the rod are - 7ft medium light action rod Cast weight 2-14gms Line weight 2-6kgs I just dont want it to snap trying to lift a fish up onto the jetty haha.
