I try not to get anything on my line except for water and fish. I heard sunscreen on your line can put the fish off the bite. My mother in law puts on make up and perfume when she goes fishing. She thinks her pleasant smell attracts the fish to her baits. She always beats me too. But that's not hard.

hosing reels isn't always a good idea. If there is sand on the outside of the reel the hose will wash sand inside the reel. I use a damp cloth to wipe the sand and salt off. I lubricate the main shaft and sometime a lanolin stray to make it look new. I am a slacker though.

Hey Mully i like the rod. The spiral definately appeals to me. I knew Shimano had brought out a couple, But i didn't realise that rod builders were builing them too. Don't know yatesy personally but i know he builds nice rods. And yours is a nice looking rod and i'd love one in my shed.

Well i tried plastics on crabs today.I put one net out with a half a snookone with some squidand one out with berkley cut bait.the plastics were crapWe didn't get one crab in the net but were getting plenty in the other nets.So consider this myth BUSTEDI dont know what i was thinking really
