  2. nice collection there.I catch a few snook out in my boat so i buy a few Diving minnow style lures. "id have probably 50 i reckon. I target snook about twice a year. I always use the same lure, And i dont even eat them. Lures are so addictive.Tackle shops love people like you.
  3. good tip thanks mate.I always make my own berley and i've put some weird shit in it. I've minced pizza, salads, hot dogs and other crazy shit.

  5. Berkley Gulp has worked on so many fish and squid. I know blokes who catch crabs on their plastics. So i would like to try throwing some gulp into a crab net and see if you can catch crabs on it. Imagine if it works and berkley make little chunky crab net baits. I'd use themNext time i'm out i will try it unless someone beats me to it.Crabs on plasticsCrabs on plasticsCrabs on plasticsCrabs on plasticsCrabs on plasticsCrabs on plasticsCrabs on plastics

  12. It's my understanding that vasoline isn't the best because it dries out too quickly. Proper reel grease will last a lot longer and preform better. I guess if you were changing it over pretty frequently it would be OK, but i'd go for the stuff that is made for it.
  13. Well you've reel grease end reel oil or lubeOne is a liquid or sprayAnd the other is grease like a paste.I dont think it matters too much which one you use just as long as use them as they are intendedI use the Penn stuff in the shop when i do services and repairs.Lanutec is a lanolin product which keeps your reel looking good
  14. welcome back Jerome.Did you catch the king in your avatar photo?PS i got 16 big blue swimmers on my freezer looking for a new crab recipe.Got the charter this weekend so hopefully i'll be needing a snapper recipe next week.
  15. i ordered some salt and pepper squid from a resturaunt the other night. It was done a little different.Instead of cutting into rings they cut into rings but didnt cut all the way through. They cut 95% through but left a little bit attched. This way they could link like 6 rings together all joined at the bottom. Make sense?????Hard to explain but it looked awesome and tasted good too.
  16. Urunga is a top place hey. You can buy a small house with your own private jetty going out to a salt water river for about $200k. ' Thinking about moving back there. The flattys are huge and the bream are everywhere and edible.NSW have so many nice salt water rivers. They are so spoilt.
  17. another poll for you guys. What is your favourite and most trusted brand. I know many of you will have plenty from each supplier but you only get to vote once so make it your overall best.If i forget any let me know and i'll drop it into the poll.
  18. I spoke to the skipper and he advised me that i should go on another day. We're going out on sunday 27th of Jan. I'm sure i'll put up a post and some pictures. Hopefully a picture of me holding a 10kg snapper.
  19. no its not a bait runner buddy. Just a super tough shimano spinning reel. They still make an 8000, 12000 and a 14000. Some blokes use the bigger ones for sampson fish so they are built tough as.
  20. the emcast are great reels for casting.I use a Shimano Spheros 5000. This is a great size and i dont know why they dont make it any more. Super tough, Massive drag and smooth. It pulls 10lb slamon all day long.

  23. my wife and i were fishing at second creek near tumby bay in may 2007. It was our last day and i was chucking all my bait into the water. Within a few minutes we had about 5 eagle rays at our feet. I put a pilchard in 2 x 5/0s and dropped it at my feet. The rays were too smart and would take my bait. Thet sometimes bumped into the line but that was it. I gave up and sat on the sand and started drinking. My wife wilma (Nicki) got up on the rockand tried to hook one. She had a little one interested but couldn't hook it. I watched these 5 little rays swimming around her bait but not taking it. It
  24. interesting how they are all mully stories so far.
  25. Just wanted to hear your best catch of all time.Mine goes like this.I came home from work one day and my fiance had cleaned out my house and pissed off with her new partner. A couple days later a mate said come up to Yalata for a week to clear my head. I had nothing to lose literally. We stayed at Fowlers and drove up to Yalata one morning and fished the beach. I had a massive run on my cheap as $99 shimano surf combo. After 5 mins my mate ran out into the shallow water and pulled in my 102cm mully. We dragged her up on the beach and just stared at it. It was the most liberating experience i've
