  1. Don't use em myself but i.m a big fan of just twitching the rod to impart some small movement on the bait....this does definately work, think of how many times you get a bite just as you put the rod down, the movement of the boat does the same thing. cheers brenton

  2. I mate fixed one up for me by putting a short piece of metal rod down the guts of both pieces glueing them inplace and then binding over the top.It works perfectly and doesn,t even look too daggy.Mind you i probably wouldn't of bothered myself but its the rod i lend to guests so its all good cheers brenton

  3. I've just got a question for all the bream nuts out there. There has been a bit of banter on site lately about what the bream are eating at certain times of the year and i was wondering if any of the Gurus out there have established any defined patterns of what they eat and when. For example in the early summer i was having quite i bit of success (for me anyway)catching a decent number of good size bream on S/Ps, 3" minnows seemed to do pretty well early on then as the summer progressed the worm and shrimp imitations were better and now i can't catch a decent fish to save myself and i have the feeling that the fish are eating something else(maybe fish). So my question is this?? Has anyone out there who regularly fishes for bream defined any pattern to what there eating and when or do you just head out and keep chucking many and varied patterns of lure until you crack what happening on the day cheers brenton

  4. Hi BB I believe the Bloodworm run happens anywhere there is a Mangrove/Shallow fringing area.I have heard of it happening at Wakefield,Cowell,pt augusta,Whyalla etc.I have only done it in the metro area though. cheers brenton

  5. I always despatch all my fish/crabs by putting them into an ice slurry not because of any humane reason just because i like them in top condition and bouncing around in a tub or ice blocks doesn't cut it IMO.Crabs don,t throw their claws and fish are stone dead on about 60 secs.As to whether they feel pain, not in the same way as you or me and particularly I believe their mouths are (desensitised?)to pain to allow them to hunt their food, would you be able to eat a feed of barnicles off a post or crush up and swallow a blue crab also there are those instances where you can catch the same fish just after its been caught before. No doubt many of you could give plenty of other examples where instinct has overridden any pain felt.I believe that they would still feel pain of some degree though like being exposed to heat or air or being hooked in the body etc and that is why a humane death should always be an important consideration. cheers brenton

  6. I had a flick in the rain this morning with the Sienna after i hand wound the first 5o metres or so of line on by hand with a bias towards the front of the spool and so far so good, no air knots this morning but no mully either {SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif.I may....have it sorted, fingers crossed. cheers brenton

  7. On the boat in the deep i use a couple of baitrunners 6500's matched with 7"Okumas in the shallows a ABU 6500 matched with a penn,i used to have the Silstar crystal tip 6ft6" which i preferred but alas its no more {SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif cheers brenton

  8. A 6.28 bag {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gif no wonder your still buzzing Shauno, nice to see you here and hopefully you can give us some crumbs off the table from time to time.Don,t worry we'll just keep it between ourselves, although the way this site is going....... {SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gifbetter than having 10,000 + looking over your shoulder though cheers brenton

  9. I,m not very good with the computers but i,m wondering if anyone can post the links to some of the gps sites like Marinenews.com or fishnet.com they have plenty of good general marks for SA i have them on my comp but don,t know how to post the links or is that not kosher. cheers brenton

  10. Thanks HF As a matter of fact i saw someone digging yesterday and went over for a look and they were the worms i was talking about, sandworms is a bit of a misnomer they were in the stinking black mud {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif cheers brenton

  11. Thank Fellas I think its 14lb nitlon so its not that light but winding it through my fingers every few casts does seem a bit of a pain,i,ll try the washer method but i,ve used the same method to stop line building up on the front of the spool which is what i,ve been told will help reduce the knots. And Cal...so true i,ve got fireline in 6lb on my bream stick, the spools loaded right up and over the 6 months i,ve fished S/Ps i,ve hardly had a problem.Oh well back to the drawing board {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif cheers brenton
