  1. Hi Paul I,ve only fished the lake for 6 months and the only signs i,ve seen state 6 metres...I ignore them and fish where i want anyway as i keep moving and am gone before the Chub guys show up. You must of been near the inlet as that is the only place i know they patrol because of persistant complaints from the residents. You can hardly blame them because almost every morning they have to clean up all the rubbish the fishing knobs leave in their yards etc.I have no doubt that the blokes that told you to move would of been full blown wankers and wannabe coppers and i also doubt that the poxy council by-law would stand up in court. The strange bit is there are no properties on the eastern side of the inlet except for those few units right near the pipes and i would think the 6m rule would not apply anyway....good on you for sticking up for yourself anyway and see you there next time {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif cheers brenton

  2. I didn,t vote but fish at different times depending on what i,m fishing for.I like the late arvo,s for kg because that is when most of my patches fire also on the low in the middle of the day.Bream in the lake i,m an early morning fisher as thats when i,ve done best and night time in the Port.Snapper i fish during the day out wide and night time when i,m close off metro and early morning off hughes etc.Gar i like the morning outgoing tide and the same with crabs.Squid when the tide slows and S/Ts and Snook when ever i find them. cheers brenton

  3. I give my reels a light rinse after every trip and then loosen the drag to let them dry,my mates are the i,ll do it later as i don,t want to spray it group hence they never do it. {SMILIES_PATH}/rolleyes.gifI give a full service about every 6 months, infact i did my crap bream reel today(slade) when i put it back together it was shocking so i pulled it down again and rotated it half a turn ,bingo, smoooth as its ever gonna get.If they are a bit worn they have to be put back in the same position. cheers brenton

  4. Nice one Cal,I love a bit of a trout fish and have caught quite a few over the years locally but is my best isn,t close to that one.Haven,t caught any rainbows for a few years now though, used to catch a few but the browns seem to have taken over locally.I,m heading nth soon if i can get off my @#$%.. cheers brenton

  5. They do eat the gulps but with all the other baits in the water i reckon the plastic would of come a very poor second,My favorite bait for the blueys is skippy but i,ve been real slack this year and haven,t even had a feed yet,i was going to go the other day but at this time of year they are often in poor condition so i,ll have to wait a while and maybe give the carp a go as bait. cheers brenton

  6. Yeehaa Brooksey {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif a 46er on S/Ps i,ve been fishing the other end of the lake lately as the council seem to be hot on the southern end ATM,I reckon with the school hollies etc the residents have been driven mental and are up in arms...they do have a point though as that poor bloke has to fish bait packets etc out of his pool almost every day. cheers brenton

  7. When i,ve brined pillies before i just made a heavy brine solution in an old esky and stuck the whole lot in the freezer for about 3-5 days depending on the size of the pilchards. The brine is too salty to freeze and if the pillies take up the brine slowly they keep their plump appearance instead of shrinking.I still don,t like them that much as bait but they are good off the deep reefs. In the surf i still prefer fresh if you can get them because as they fall to pieces they add to the burley. If on a extended trip to the far west coast this is the exception because they turn to mush and the brineys are the way to go. cheers brenton
