Have just purchased a Shimano Baitrunner 3500B to snapper fish with. How much 20lb braid will fit on it and how much backing and what lb b/s mono should I use?

Del, a shack at kellidie well done. Stayed in one there a few times. It belonged to a mates girlfiend but most weekends we would camp at Seal Corner and fish the weekend away. This was back in the 70's before I moved to Adelaide in '78.You are right about the size of the strongys there they were huge. Some big snapper and trevally there as well at different times of the year.

My mate says it is a Strongfish? I didn't think they were caught on lines only spearfished. What is its correct name?

I concur especially for a closed and narrow waterway like a river. Besides the obvious danger to themselves and other river users what effect are they having on the quality of the river water and what environmental damage are they doing?
