  1. Well those little plastic expensive buggas do need to be looked after or unless you are made of money you can replace trebles and hooks every second trip then thats ok..What I do is give them a rinse in fresh water shake the water off the best I can and spray them with INOX ,this prevents and removes rust build up and keeps the lures rings and body looking fresh also ,just a little hint to save you money in the long run.

rod is no good {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif it may be too heavy but any rod will flick a plastic depends how strong your arms are.You would be better off with a lighter rod fast taper and a reel with light braid 4-8lb or mono/flurocarbon again light around 8lb for mono...Some of the cheap whiting rods are a inexpensive way of getting a good plastics rod.
  3. Plenty of stonka mullys in the lakes dont worry about that the hard part is knowing where and when ...Got spooled big time on a home made lure my copy of the old reliable PODDY now I know it works well ill make a ship load more...Have you tried ant surface lures out there shallow divers yet {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif? give em a go night time only..
  4. There are heaps out there go and get some mulloway onplastics if you havent tried it go and baf a schoolie or even a bigger fella soon as they are out and about the Port and West Beach rocks...

  6. The rocks are producing good numbers a lot of fun to be had especially if your trying to score your first this is the place to be at the moment...Good luck and be careful when you score one it will start a new addiction
  7. tthats the gear in the tubs, mix until pliable equal parts tuna oil to saltwater...[[winner]]
  8. The SOL is a very nice reel indeed and has been around for quite some time for their price they are tops...
  9. My favorite O/H reel would have to be my charter special the reasoning behind this is where else can you buy lever drag with line guide for $170.00 or under some places even cheaper. What you get is an awesome light game reel that will catch mulloway, kingfish sharks and other toothy creatures with ease. With a small drag washer upgrade you will have a reel that stops a car and all for under $200 including drag upgrade [bargain] Plus these reels are indestructible worth every cent.My favorite spin reel would have to be my pflueger president/daiwa luvias and the ever faithful shimano baitrunner 65
  10. Dropped in at Tackle world at Port Adelaide today and said gday to Josh, good to meet ya mate lots of nice gear in the shop also definately worth the visit..
  11. I picked up a luvias 2500 today,,nice little unit it will be my new mully/freshwater setup...It is sitting on the Team Diawa Zero 6'6 8-12lb bit heavier than my usual. The reels weight for the 2500 is 220 grams the 2000 is 200grams very light little units. The rod piccys are a scan of the 2008 buyers guide as I couldn't find anything online as far as pictures go..Will put a few piccys up of my setup soon im lazy today..
  12. Congrats on the first mully mate now you will get the bug and never stop until you hit a 50lb er..Good luck and well done again...

Owner stingers 36 for me or Gamakatsu Tr13 ,some of the trebles on the higher end lures like jackal ,ecogear etc are very crappy to say the least their lures are great but the pointy bits are terrible.gets expensive when you use a lot of lures but being straightened by a 40 plus bream or a mulloway makes you cry also....
  15. I agree Id h ave a few more also if it wasnt for 3 kids and a woman {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gif
  16. Fred I apolagise for taking my post the wrong way it is not aimed at you at all..What Im saying is some forums will say great rod great product and never disagree or put their true feelings or experience about it in writing..Id prefer you and anyone to say what you feel about something of mine I wont be offended Not everyone likes certain stuff or gear,What I don't like is people that get personal about posts ,thats all mate Again please accept my apologies and understand in no way was I having a go at you or anyone, and don't keep you mouth shut either thats crazy your a bloke that I have resp
  17. Totally agree with you Cal and getting the buoyancy right helps also...The bottom lures are made in Russia and cost me around $1.00 to import here they are a top lure...[bigger bum swing than the poddy]
  18. Mate Id prefer the truth than hot air blown up my {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gif doesn't bother me at all, I love the rod but not all will this is life, just don't be rude to me or Ill send the same back two fold...Thats all i ask its a bit like my signature "YOU MUST SHOW RESPECT TO GET IT IN RETURN,NEVER PRESUME YOU DESERVE IT...."I respect peoples view points good or bad just don't be rude.
  19. Thats the Gladiator branded lure right ??Nice lookers also I have a few from overseas that are very similar swimming actions as the poddys..One has an even wider action than the poddy...
  20. Well done mate its not an easy role sometimes but good fun regardless.
  21. Truth is a lot of close friends have tried the same and I wont reveal to them either no offense meant but it was really hard sourcing them...
  22. Yeah this was no small bugga when it realized it was hooked it went like a steam train couldn't even slow it down....Oh well would be nice to score a biggun on 6lb so I wont stop trying..
