  1. Thanks all.I found the best was a combination of the darker water and watching the swell. We were lucky enough to be on private ptoperty and able to get into the dunes to get a good look. No mullys but a few sharks.Had a good time anyway.Cheers Woody.
  2. Hi Guys,I am heading down to the Coorong this easter (between 28 mile crossing and Kingston) and will have a go at some Surf fishing while down that way. I have only done surf fishing once before and was lucky enough to get a salmon and Mulloway. Begineers luck Can any of the experienced land based fisho's help me know what I should be looking for to find a good gutter in the surf? I usualy am in the boat so finding the right spot on the beach is a lot different.Cheers,Woody71
  3. I'm with afishyfish, go buy a new one!
  4. Thanks Guy's,Yeah, staying in the caravan park and the inlaws are going to tow the boat up for me and stay in a cabin for a couple of days. My first time there before we move on down to Stansbury.I hope to go for some KG, Gar, squid, crab etc.. and as we are stll new to the boating don't intend to go too far out so thanks for the pointers in getting started.I'd love to catch a snapper but don't we all! :woohoo: I guess the local bait shop will help out as well with what is happening locally when we get there.
  5. Hey guy's,I am finally getting some time off work and we are heading to Pt Broughton soon for a week of fishing and relaxing before moving down to Stansbury for another week. Can wait!!!! :cheer: I am taking the boat as well but have not fished at PB before. Any pointers on good locations with out passing on any secret spots would be greatly appreciated for a newby to the boating scene.Cheers,Woody
  6. I launched the other weekend and had a good day out but came in at low tide. To get the boat back on the trailer dropped off the ramp ledge but was able to pull it out OK. Thanks Guy's.I did have to help another bloke as he was struggling big time on getting his back on the trailer and there was a big line up of in/out as well. Makes me wonder why some people just stand and watch others struggle and not give another a hand to get out quicker! :S
  7. no worries,we wont be out far, but will not be there that early with the kids.
  8. Hi Guys,I just bought my first Boat after months of looking, yeeha!!!!Savage 17' :)I still have lots to learn about getting out on the water and plan to take it slow and safe.I am keen to take it out with the family on the Aust day holiday Tuseday and I live near the St Kilda ramp. I see from the tide time there is only one tide on Tuesday and it looks to be low most of the day when I would plan to be out.Can anyone let me know what is the ramp like at low tide for getting the boat on / off the trailer? If not good, any other ramps better suited? Thanks.
