does anybody else feed the urge to go to florida and fish for a tarpon? they are often caught on fly rods as well...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8xIfDF9fWk&feature=related

Nice one Nev, Tarpon seem to be a pretty good fish, gutsy. Have you checked out Marlin on youtube, they have attitude, a couple of the marlin actually spear some unwary fishos as they are hauled in. Not sure how to down load the footage to S.H. any advice Nev as I reckon it's interesting footage? Worth a look. Onya Marko.
ive seen a few marlin ones marko.. just go to the top, and cut and paste the link... should work

i used to live at lock on the eyre peninsula.so i used to fish locks well often.even before the stairs were built.i remember when the farmer locked the gate to the road that goes there because people would not clean up after themselves.that was about 18 years ago. dont know if farmer still owns the land.if he does maybe he should lock it again.but then locals will suffer who are not the ones who mess it up.

same happened at a place i used to fish..called redbanks... so named because the earth was red clay...to get there, you would open the farers gate, and close it after you entered.last time i went there was last yr, and the gate is now locked.

fished a few times with softy, del and jimmy... and kudos to them, they cleaned up after themselves...softy and del enjoy a beer of 3 slabs... take your pic, and what they carried onto the rocks came back up and went in the bin.they left the campsite cleaner than they found it.

but being the rocks i fish, they did leave behind around 300 sinkers :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Del wrote:but thats all beside the point.. this thread is about the new TACKLEWORLD opening up.. not the users on here bagging out BCF
100,000 karma points for Del!amazing how there are 4 pages discussing the pros n cons of BCF and chains like it, in a thread about a new TACKLEWORLD store!Someone comes on and puts up an informative or entertaining report and it bearly gets a mention. No wonder the regular writers of such reports are rarely seen or heard from in these pages anymore! :(very true.... GOOD LUCK TO THE NEW BUISNESS VENTURE IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE A USER OF THIS FORUM.
  6. ive only been to one bcf store... sure ,they didnt know a lot, but then again, i wasnt asking,,, when i go into a fishing shop, I KNOW what i want....i explained to the guy the kind of alvey i was after, and he showed me everything they had... which wasnt what i was after, so i looked at other things.jimmy put me onto a swag from annaconda, same deal... it was on special, and i enjoyed the 50buck saving., if its cheaper, i will buy it.the stores reminds me of supercheap auto actually... the staff have little idea of what they are selling, but same deal... its cheaper, and normally exactly the same as the dearer shops... i know what i want, so i get it and pay for it, pocketing the savings for something else i may need

  7. well it looks like being a goer.... so far my bro is in... just waiting for vb4me to come into phone range so he gets a message.3 people should help cut down on costs thats for sure....around 100 for fuel there and back, camping fees etc etc.. will take all the food and drink we need. somehow i dont think much alcohol will be consumed... hahahaha.... i was telling vb4me, come 8:30 at night, he will be that tired all he will want to do is sleep...the west coast has that effect... you dont get a chance to sit down.... and walking on soft sand is murder on your legs...vb has never been... hes is for an awesome shock....just an overnight trip will do me, anything more and im starting to get sick of it... last year i did 3 single day trips, sure takes it out of you... 4 hr drive there, 10hrs fishing, then 4 hr drive home...

jesus nev, wouldn't wanna get in your way

hahahaaha... ive been known to fling em out there, but every now and again, my accuracy is a bit out...one time i folded my yourger bro up like an envelope, when i was casting a snapper lead... ( thankfully on just an 8ft rod).hit him sqaure in the back, dead centre of his shoulder blades.now my younger bro, IS A HUGE MAN....and i hurt him prtty good... i kind of felt sorry for him, as i was rolling on the floor laughing hysterically :laugh::laugh::laugh:
  9. well, i havnt asked or told vb4me or my bro if they are interested ina tripon mondy 28th june, return the following day... them dates work in with all of us with our work roster, so it could be a goer....and dont ya just know it, when we arrive, im reckoning this will be playing on the radio...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ham6vFy8v2I

with the small rock crabs, i pull that flap thingy back and put the hook through where its bum should be, but then again im not using 6/0 hook

ltfish suggested a tiny hole poked through its back, and out the bottom , then a hook through ther may work, but the cast with the big surf rod is just too violent... ive had frozen tommie come flying off...

and the bream love em! shove a little rock crab on and your just about guaranteed a legal breambo :)

im still trying to work out how to pina couple of 6.0's through them without killing them... ive tried to pin a single hook through by their swimmers, but they are just that soft the cast flings them off.
  12. ive got a mate in brisbane, and another in townsville... sadly they both say, WE have it made here for fishing from land...they do catch fish, but the kind of fish they like to catch requires a boat.one of them fishes real deep water... over 100mtrs on a shelf... hard to feel the bites, and from about half way up, the fight is boring once their swim bladder comes outsurvival rate for fish released is not good.
