  1. how many after a rinse of a reel, spray wd40 on everything? ive done it before, and its not hurt the line of stopped fish from biting.my bro in law when he chases snapper in the boat, scales the tommy bait he uses... im like,,,," dude.... what are you ding?" his reply was the snapper like it better...ITS A FISH... THEY HAVE SCALES ON IN THE WILD...but for some strange reason, he catches fish...and does very well with scaled bait.

  2. dont know the rod off hand, but a lot of people bag jarvis walker... i dont know about the reels, but ive got a jarvis rod in 8ft, and that has been bent over pretty far for 45 minutes pulling a stingray in... and it held up well..

Some of you blokes crack me up, you get an idea in your head and well .................The cost of two GFC trips, $500.00One snapper trip out wide in your own boat may cost $50.00 fuel $25.00 bait, $25.00 burley.......... Some will cost way more others might do it on the cheap ...Is it worth $500.00 for someone to teach you their way of bagging out often enough within a few kms from shore from a small tinny ?I think it is :) Your already a snapper king onya, dont go. You struggle to catch legal fish and need some assistance. $500.00 is not a huge outlay. Personally I dont have $500.00 laying around spare money to go. If I did I would attend. Knowledge is good. The more the better.

as brenton said.. im not being critical, hell the guy has overheads to pay for...and im not saying he is over priced either...and he may well put you onto some fish....good luck to him.i too dont have a spare 500 laying around....if i did i could get 3 charters on a charter boat here...with guys who can put me onto some cracker fish...
  4. i can also gaurentee not everyone hears about all the trips i do...for instance, who knows ive just got back from a fish, and had a fish last night?prob 2 or 3 people...did i catch anything and how big were they?? who knows....but for the record, this forum hasnt heard about every fish trip ive done... if its a good trip with some nice catches, then maybe it will be posted along with fish... is it bragging? TOO RIGHT IT IS....if it wasnt bragging there would be no reports from anybody.and i can safely say the last 2 trips havnt produced any fish...yeah i talk a lot... and as suggested, maybe i say nothing...does that make me a pita?do you think i care what anybody thinks of me? not a chance...if i want to have a fish, ive got plenty of people to call on for company.but as ive mentioned before.... I WILL HAVE A FISH WITH ANYBODY....if someone wants to experience my type of fishing, then they are more than welcome to come out and have a fish.if they catch a fish FROM these rocks, they have my respect...its not as easy as some may think.ANYBODY that can land a fish from these rocks, deserves a post bragging about it.if anybody interested, bring around 20 rigs, and approx 30-40 sinkers....and IF you hook up, dont be thinking that it will be on the rocks in a couple of minutes... it dont work like that... its not a boat where you wind it in, net it and high 5 everyone in sight. todays short 2 hr trip, saw no bites, but 3 rigs of 2 hooks, and 3 sinkers were left snagged way out in the brine.but thats fishing... im out there trying....

Wouldn't mind a trip there me sen soon, we have been talking aboot it too, pack the truck and Zoom Zoom Zoom.. :)

go for it sandy... BUT BE CAREFULL.... its not a beach for kids to be playing, AND NEVER NEVER TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE WATER... NOT EVEN FOR AN INSTANT.people have drowned in them waters, just by turning around and getting pummeled by a rouge wave.locks well can be very dangerous at times.... the wave you dont see can slam you up against the sharp cliff face in an instant, and unless you have a tight grip, when it recedes, your going with it, as well as all of your fishing gear...many a rod, reel, tackle and everything else you take down there has just disapeared never to be seen again..and it happenes in an instant... even after 5 hrs fishing where you become complacent because the waves are nowhere near where you are sitting.. then from nowhere, it comes... and comes that bloody quick its incredible.
  6. weaver, if ever your up this way, you too are more than welcome to come for a fish....the rock is free for you...fishyfish and samantic summed it up pretty well.im on a couple of corvette forums, both in ausralia, and by far the most friendliest is the one which like this, veers off track sometimes... hell thats what makes it interesting.the other forum is based in nsw, and my oh my dont sydney people love themselves to pieces and chastise anyone who veers off topic.i just cant be bothered with that, and havnt visited it for around 5 mths now, but the other forum ima daily contributer. a few mths ago, i tried to get a daily blog happeneing on here, like the other forum im on has...its locked daily, and deleted after 7 days, anyone can start it, just by opening a new post with the date on it, but it never took off on here. talk about anything, from a good morning to how long the grass is growing... indeed, the owner of the forum, has set up a grasscam, and its had 28,000 hits on it..and all it does is provide a live feed of the friggen grass growing...and he was interviewed by a few radio stations and was made into a documentary... are we that bored? hell i clicked on the grass cam, just to see how its coming along.http://users.tpg.com.au/smackc4/grasscam.htmlTIGHT LINES EVERYONE....

Why is it that every thread on this site gets rail roaded with crap?If people have a problem with it why don't you contact Wayne on his contact details he has on his site instead of bagging him like little girls behind a keyboard. Fair dinkum some of the crap other users of this site have to read, topics that turn to shit overnight with crap that isn't even relevant and this isn't even the off topic section!.Hey guys ever thought the snapper might of come from two or more boats and he has just put the entire catch together into one photo for his website, instead of he's taking more then the bag limit. There are heaps of people on this site that no longer take part and are sick of reading all the crap that some users seem they must add to every thread.Have you noticed the lack of fishing reports of late? everyone is turning off from all the bullshit that is being written.Come on guys give us a break or use face book for your banter.

fair call weaver... but what started as a post of someone selling a trip to catch snapper, hasnt veered that far of course has it? as everyone knows, i fish the rocks...AND I DO BETTER THAN MOST BOATS DO ON THE SNAPPER. do i not?2007, 38 legal snapper, 2008, 61 legal snapper, 2009, 48 legal snapper... 2010, so far im on 32 legal snapper...all from the rocks.so maybe i should sell a rock...HELL BLOKE... WHAT WERE YOU SELLING THE OTHER WEEK, a bag of nothing..., and look where that thread went...and that wasnt bullshit??????.... if anyone fancies a fish with me, they are more than welcome...ive had so far 3 people from adelaide, take me up on this offer, FROM this very forum...and i fish often with other locals, ive met on THIS forum.who really cares if it goes off topic?... seems to me the topic may have been dying anyway.ever thought the lack of fishing reports may or may not have to do with its cold and there may not be as much fishing going on as normal?ever thought that someone may have found a honey hole of a fishing spot and doesnt wish to broadcast it?( yeah it happens...mate i know landed 2 snapper last week, which both were over 20lb cleaned and gutted from the rocks... and ive seen the pictures,, and i havnt been shown where he got them from, and im not expecting him to either..)well i guess thats going to lose me some karma, but lives like that.

i haven't read all the page but ain't our bag limit 6 fish over 60cm???there seems to be a lot of pics with 8 big fish in it?cheersBigAsh

yeah i said the same thing, and it was thought that they were old pics...if they are old, before the limit we have now came into effect, they must be old photos for sure...so if there old, they would have been pretty easy to come across so many large in the old days.if its a new photo, then somebody may be double dipping.

If it was Nev's rock, then everyone will be envious!! I can give you a discount on these rocks AND you can keep it!!Throw a line straight out from the light house at Pt Lowly at a low tide about 4.00am and you are in for a chance of a nobber. They seem to come in close here under the cover of darkness looking for food from the rip.Don't tell Nev. LOL!!
heheheh. BELIEVE me... ive tried that,,, and tried it often....have got a few pannies, but nothing like the fish i get at my good spot.

Outer harbour breakwall first light might be worth a go.Headin out in the cold dark morning you want to be keen.RE : What a crock................You guys must be pretty good snapper fishos, I'm obviously not as good as you blokes, you must know a lot about snapper. B) Me .............. I'm always eager to learn something more. Maybe you blokes should run a course and teach the rest of us wannabees. :)

can i sell you a rock perhaps?it will be next to my rock, but may not be the rock you have to stand on , but will be one very similar...you cant take it with you, as i plan on selling it again after you leave.but feel free to take a photo of your rock.all jokes aside, the bloke catches snapper. IF the photos are from a long time ago, hell i can get hold of the same kind of photos AND video of where i fish when 25lb snapper were caught EVERY day... and not just one of them either.most ive seen is 14 snapper over 20lb in one morning, and a local bloke landed 9 one morning, and not one under 25lb...BUT them days are long gone.if them photos were from a long time ago, back then it wasnt that difficult to land a big knobbie.. it was common to head out on a saturday morning, rocks or boat, to get a snapper for a bbq that night.

Im about to go on several weeks holidays and intend on filling alot of this time fishing, soooWhere can I catch good sized snapper near Adelaide, I can travell but have heard mixed reports about wallaroo and ardrossan. Outer harbour people seem to say they catch them, then others say they have never seen them caught.Obviously ill be shore based so any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!

HEY... wanna buy a rock to fish off?IVE GOT BAZZILLIONS OF THE BUGGERS OUT THERE...dont laugh.. they used to sell pet rocks at one time...and people bought them.
  15. maybe the bag and boat limits dont apply if you run a course... yeah right.. not a smart move putting pics of so many snapper on a website...maybe i should sell somebody a place on the rocks...

  16. like funky chicken said... ITS VERY addictive when you start doing up a rod.ive not built one from scratch yet, but have tore down the threads and re did them on 3 rods so far.first couple i borrowed a rotator, then went and bought a bbq spit rotator from the hardware shop... cost me 40 bucks, and 20 minutes of knocking up a frame to mount it.a few rollers, and someway to put tension on the thread, and your away.its tedious work, but surprsingly fun... makes the day fly by thats for sure. no sooner do you start, and dinner is on the table in the evening.and the satisfaction of landing a fish on what you made/ fixed up is sure to give you many smiles.not to mentiong the rod is a one of.. no other rod will be exactly the same as what you will do.go for it mate.. and post up some pics.
