  1. Hi PeoplesI'm in the process of building a holiday home. Part of this I wish to build a shed. But I want to plan for the future when one day I may get a bigger boat eg 6-7 metres.Taking this into account. What height should make life comfortable? 3.6 metres? Shed width of 9 metres to house a couple of cars and boat be alright?Anything I should take into account?I was thinking a 9 metre wide by 12 metre deep shed, with an access door 3.6 high and sliding doors rather than roller doors? Clearance 3.1 metres?

  2. Great idea' date=' i'm a big fan of the idea of Hughs "River Cottage" approach to life (although i think he has sold out a bit with his expansion in the later episodes).I reckon living that lifestyle would not only be healthy from the food you put in your body but healthy for your mind and overall well being (i sound like hippy but i'm not).Since watching River Cottage i have put in several veggie patches and am self sufficient with certain veggies. Spend a lot of time on the yak catching fish to eat and get all our red meat from the father in laws farm.My plan is to buy some property at some stage a try the small holder lifestyle i'm sure it would eb very satisfying.I currently work in an office environemnt and am paying a mortgage so am a fair way off yet. You've got the right idea ... good luck.[/quote']I don't get why you are laying of the meat?I farm lamb which is basically free range, only vaccinated and drench for their safety.I can also get you free range cattle too.If you need free range eggs we have 8 chooks PM and you can collect from my office if you are in the North East, we sell them for no profit at $3 a carton to cover the cost of free range feed.Redmist, I was in the same position as you and I took the risk and it's paid off. Just because you have a mortgage don't let that deter you. You won't regret it, there are some good properties in the hills close to the burbs available. Mine is on the market this week 67 acres at Kersbrook :)
  3. It works for bloodworms, so I cant see why it wouldnt work on any worms.I only put the bloodworms in for about a minute or so though. As a word of warning, make sure you give the worms a little time to dry after patting them down, coz if you dont you'll notice a strong smell of metho in ya freezer, and I dont think it'd be real cool having ya freezer blow up when the thermostat kicks in and creates a spark.

I have a designated freezer for my fishing stuff, but you are right I still don't want it going bust on me.I already had the father in law unplug it for me once, making all my fishing burley go quite smelly :)
  4. A client whilst doing tax yesterday mentioned when he harvested some tubies, he would put them in metho for 10 minutes, then pat them dry and store them in a freezer with sea salt.I was considering getting some seaweed worms whilst at the Yorke Peninsula this weekend and wondered if anyone new if the same technique would apply to these worms also? As I want to store some for the up coming YFW season. As for tubies. If I was too look for them at Port Gawler or at the Power station, how would I identify them as I have never tried to get my own before? Thanks for any tips, BTW the site looks good, nice to be here.
