While reading some results from a Bass comp I found this quite funny in the write up, :icon_lol:
:icon_lol: :icon_lol:I'm sure we've had days like that :icon_lol:The local boys fared well filling the top 5, in third, Rob used the early start to his advantage scoring fish on surface, but dropped his first three fish, on inspection Rob realized that the trebles have a better hook up rate if you remove the protective tubing (more surprisingly his willingness to share this pearl of wisdom with the crowd at the weigh in).

The DVD I watched 1fish suggested 30-40Just out of curiosity how many twists do you put in your bimini 20-30-40-50??

I use an albright to tie my braid to leader, thanks to Ranger for putting me onto it , I have no probs with it at all and same as your self Plankton I've never had one fail although I have had leaders break at the leader knot due to carelessness and not checking the leader :. I have also used a uni to uni and not liked it. One night here at home I grabbed a spool of mono and tied 3 knots to test which one was the thinnest, a uni to uni, a 5 turns surgeons and a albright, I then ran my fingers along each knot and the albright had the smallest profile .

While sitting at home today watching a Berkley SP DVD they talk a lot about tying a Bimini twist in your braid before you tie on your leader, for Trout, Bream, Kings, Snapper etc, so the braid doubles in thickness to stop the braid cutting through your leader. Does anyone do this? as I'm interested in if it affects the casting and having an extra knot going through the guides? I tied a Bimini once as a practice in some mono at it was a piece of cake, got it right 1st time

Nah if that was coight, he would have hit the wake, the Javelin would have got airborne done a 360 (not a 180 :) coight would have then gunned the motor soon as the boat hit the water, straightened up, and kept going ;D :icon_lol:I must agree it does look like Coight's boat..I thought it was Coight at first..

What ever one a Bream will latch onto on the day

Thats a good looking fish on the cover :icon_lol:. I'll check the news agent tonight on the way home ;D

I'd use it for a new rod or reel, or make a down payment on a layby and get a good quality rod or reel. Other wise the lot on lures ;D

Cheers mate@LLhad a quick look at the link, and that CRC product looks the goods, I think as long as it is designed to be applied to plastics you'll be fine..
I never thought that would prolong the life of Dyneema but there ya go, ya learn something new every day ;Da quick spray with a silicon based spray.

How about this Shauno http://www.crcindustries.com.au/catalogue.nsf/web_brands/808+Silicone+Spray?openDocumentWill that do the trick ;Dand if possible a quick spray with a silicon based spray

What oh no :icon_lol: :icon_lol: On ya Banana Boy :icon_lol: :icon_lol:Ryan thought it would be a good idea to slide a banana in with his stuff..
-
Yeah that would be about close to it, A quick 'ping' of the line or jiggle the rod tip usually gets 'em off but I do loose one every now and then3) 1 every 5 outings
-
Wow thats an awesome pic Big fella

There's a reason why they are so cheap don't waste your money MBF on these lures. You can go to one one of the sponsors stores and spend a few bucks more and a better quality of lure and not get slugged $20 to deliver .If you'd rather buy on line coz ya live at the Bridge, try www.mylureshop.com www.motackle.com.au www.lureworld.com.au

I make sure I wear red jocks ;D :icon_lol:

G'day Pete,Ranger and Tony have given some excellent info as you get into it more you will learn more about it Why don't you pop down to the SABT Bream Classic weigh in at 2pm on Sunday the 5th of April at the Angus Inlet Boat Club at Garden Island, Ranger and I, Team Strikehook, will be happy to have a chat after the weigh in and the boat washing so from about 3pm I'm sure we'd have a few minutes free .
Addictive its more like an obsession for some :icon_lol: *cough* cough* :icon_lol:Although Ranger correctly stated that this form of fishing is deadly addictive
Oh yeah ;DGood luck petethat you also need a hefty wallet to keep up with all the "Killer" lures that abound in the tackle stores

Some good ideas fellas, but I've never attempted any sort of rod repairs and don't want to stuff it so I'd rather have it done by a professional
