  1. cheers buster boy well said!..... think i will be joining! cheers....could use some fly fishing tips for sure!.....just looking on ebay at the moment for a tying kit...... think it might frustrate the hell out of me! but I'm keen to try and design a few flies!

  2. Hey all....As a very keen fisherman in most area's it was only a matter of time before i picked up a fly rod....i remember my Father got me one when i was about 12 or 13....but if i remember back i was just to young didn't know any knots and all that. But now I'm right into it! got myself a combo and a heap of flies and all the tools.....just need some waders but man they are pricey (simms) i have expensive taste! So Catching trout is what i love and I've only been able to get some small rainbows from a friends dam...and I'm no way ready for casting in over grown rivers it would just be a nightmare, i can not do a roll cast to save myself.Just wondering if any one on here is a member of SAFFA and if i could ask some questions whats it like all the details and stuff......Really wanna go to tassie but its not like i can do that every week and trying to get someone to come with to split the costs are hard.....especially when you say oh i want to be fishing most of the day all of the days I'm there hahhaso yeah whats the scene like in south oz for flyfishing...... cheers!

  3. Nice fish mate. Would've pulled a bit on fly tackle that's for sure. Great work. You must be proud as punch :fishing::fishing::clap: Did it rain down that way?

yeah mate plenty of rain yesterday it just drizzled all day......Yeah really love the fly fishing now I've started but just such a lack of options it sucks! wish there was a trout fishing lake where i could practice!....no way good enough to cast in rivers where there are to many trees
  4. G'day Everyone....Finished work at 11 am this morning and thought a quick flick to practice my casting before the wind got up!......It was raining well spitting a bit but as long as its not windy i don't care....down to sellicks very low tide waded out on the reef there.....as soon as i started trying to spot fish and tie on a fly what happens wind comes up! Fark!!!!!!......Put on a gold and what gotcha and as soon as my fly hit the water maybe a 5 metre cast if that and a nice little salmon charged it!....my first decent fish on my fly rod.... took me a good 5 mins to get it in over the reef with a few nice runs in water about 1 metre deep...... only a had a 4 lb tippet on! anyways i was pretty stoked! i walked back to the car and that was it!Cheers!
