Hi, when using live bait I use two snelled hooks usually 6/0's I put one hook in the live baits tail and usually have the other hook floating a bit bellow the hook in the fishes tail. Give it a try and see how ya go, works for me.Cheers Fisho

In the shoulder, just under the skin, no deeper than 1cm. If you hit the spine you will kill the bait. If you go too deep with too big a hook you will kill the fish. If you pin the fish too shallow the hook can tear out or bait comes off during the cast.
