  1. G'day guys, just wondering if any one has built their own rod from a rod building kit.

I'd like to give it a shot, preferably a rod for flicking lures for sambos or a surf rod for mulloway.

If any one could give me some good brands to try, tips on how to do it and what I'll need. Also is it something that requires more patience than the average joe or fairly straight forward.

    Thanks in advance

  2. G'day all. Just after some advice on yalata for any one that has been. Some of the main things I'm after is-lb people use?-braid or mono?-baits and rigsAnd how to go about getting some livies up there. Any extra info would be much appreciated. Cheers :D

  3. G'day all, had my rods stolen from the front of the car down at 42 mile last night. More of a reminder to you that there are some fishos out there with no respect to others, not to mention the camp ground we stayed in was a disgrace from the people before us. If any one comes across a cheap T curve revolution surf rod, please give them a good kick up the backside and let me know. Thanks alot

  4. G'day guys. I'm looking into making my own burley blocks, I'm sure alot of you also do this. Just wondering what are some things you do and don't mix up to put in there? Not asking for your secret mixes either B)At the moment I'm just using tuna oil with pellets but wouldn't mind putting some fish frames to use and also freezing blocks for the surf. I'm mainly chasing mullet, whiting, snook, salmon and snapper from the kayak. Thanks a lot guys

  5. Went between tauwitchere and the mouth Sunday, not a fish in sight. Pleanty of small ST but no mullet or mulloway. Heaps of bloody crabs tho. 4 or 5 a time on our baits. Unsure as to what rigs I should be using and what to look for in the water. We anchored on a reasonable drop. Should bait be on the bottom or a meter under a float or just an unweighted bait floating around?

  6. G'day guys, just after some advice on what to expect and some reports from tauwitchere. Will be trawling there in the kayaks from sugars. Can any one tell me roughly how long it would take, some baits or plastics to use or any other tips. Thanks heaps

  7. G'day guys. Heading over to lucky bay on the EP this long weekend. Just after some places people like to fish with in around an hour. Mainly looking for surf beaches but have access to 4x4 and taking a couple of kayaks. Any places and what to expect would be great. Thanks guys

  8. Hey guys, on my way to waitpinga and just closed the door on my rod... Smart move. Snapped the tip off, just wondering if anyone knows of any one that can repair rods in victor/ goolwa area? Thanks

  9. Haha your both on the money there. Never seen so many $10 notes fly so far. Thanks everyone for your tips, I guess it all comes down to practice and knowledge, which ill learn pretty quick at $10 a cast...I'm glad has any one tried with the bail arm in a certain position? Like opened back to the beach or towards the water?Cheers fellas

  10. Hey guys, as my last topic indicated, I'm starting to love fishing with lures. Had great feedback from everyone so thought I'd ask another question. I seem to have lost a good 6 lures in the last couple of outings from the bail arm flicking back over. Why is this happening, what am I doing wrong and can it be stopped? I'm using a diawa aird with a 9ft timberwolf waverock. Using both 15 and 20lb braid Thanks for any help

  11. G'day guys. Just wondering if any one has used/ heard much about the quantum TE20 PTiB tour edition? I'm after a new reel for my 1-3kg rod. Mainly for flicking plastics and lures. If anyone could point me in the right direction with a similar reel or pass on some info about this reef, would be much appretiated. Cheers guys
