Iv got an old abu 7000 reel I have paired up with a 4120 rod for beach casting.....I prefer the 7000 over the 6500...even though its heavier. Has anyone used Fireline with this sourt of set up ? I was either going to run 30lb Fireline on the abu of 15lb Mono. I have heard Fireline is easier to control off the reel. il be throwing about 60g of weight with the set up. grateful for advice, cheers,

Can anyone shed light on what a Wilson 7144 , kilwell blank would be made from ?it seems very similar to a Snyder blank, but from what I can find on the net they are not the same blanks.

Hi guys, I have a couple of 12ft surf rods 1pce, my car is not a 4wd but its fitted with roof racks, can anyone confirm that as long as the rod is fitted to the roof racks properly its cool to drive like this with a 12ft rod fixed?has anyone had any issues from cops ?

Is it possible for a Sabre 196 blank to be extended to 10ft ? has anyone seen/heard of any 10ft sabre 196 ?iv got an old sabre that's 10ft and the bloke I bought it off said it was a 196. He apparently used it for throwing metals at the mouth.il take them in to a store to find out what they are one day.

iv got a 270 too and it isn't the same blank...never seen an 806 ...

iv got two older sabre surf rods I bought 2 nd hand ...both a 10 ft both single piece...both have sand spikes (not wooden)one of them is graphite and I don't know what blank,The other apparently a 196can anyone shed anymore light as to what the graphite blank may be to me it feels 10-15kg the 196 is not as robust in the tip.

hi lads, iv got a Toyota camry and was thinking about getting a roof rack fitted so that I can actually use my old sabre surf rods, bought cheap but never used as cant transport.Can anyone recommend a specific type or style of roof rack that would work with the Toyota camry and any other "bits" id need to transport 10ft surf rods.cheers !

went to see rob from south oz rods....he seemed to think the rod was definitely a 196-8 ....will get it fitted with Fuji sic guides ready for salmon season.
