Hahaha well i was wanting to hook them. I did go to the marina but got pretty small trevally.
-
And i wasnt able to find the hoards of trevally either
-
Ahk, cause there was some guys who were able to go past that and they were fishing
-
Is the general public allowed past the second gate? i have fished many of the places mentioned have done alright. A report will be posted in about a week.

That looks like the small jetty at the start of Brennan jetty. I am happy to have hoards of trevally. We're they small trevally or bigplagues of trevally at brennan warf' date=' they're annoying..

Yea, Thankyou heaps for your contributions guys. WHat is the likelyhood of crabs?
-
And what is the likely hood of catching crabs?
-
So for the trevally, it doesnt matter if it is high or low tide, just at the turn?
-
Unfortunitly I have never really fished for any of these species I have fished for squid but never hooked one. I would love to catch even a small trevally but i have no idea how to fish for them. What baits, lures and rigs should I use and what is the best time for them tide wise?
-
So i should be able to catch something at Pt linoln hahaha. if i dont i am a hopeless angler
-
would a 4000 size reel be an over kill for trevally? THanks U4L, very helpful
-
THanks U4L, those maps are really helpful. And thankyou everyone else who contributed in information. Where and what should I fish for in the marina?
-
With brennan jetty, can you only access one side of it? Commercial boats dock their so you wouldnt want to get in their way
-
Are you refering to brenan jetty? And i am after anything really. Just keen to relax and wet a line
-
Is that the slipway marked government slipway on that map?Nanman,On the map it is markerd kurton jetty and there are no other jetties to the right of it. On google earth and other satelite maps, it does look like there is a gate prohibiting people. Looks a really good jetty thoughDon't forget the slipway around the corner towards the marina. Always good for some squid.
-
Pretty sure it is Kurton Point
-
The long jetty that curves is the shell fuel tanker wharf. No public access on that one. /quote]You mean Kurton Point?
-
So the wharf that was mentioned in the paper was the jetty on the left hand side of the big comercial wharf yea?
-
So I am pretty confused. I read in the paper today that there were good reports of fish being caught at Port Linolns main Wharf. Which one is it because there are 3? There is a small one in the middle of town almost, then there is one which is the longest and used commercially, and finally there is the jetty alomst on the point and has a curve to the right with a platform at the end? Also, with the longest jetty, are you allowed right down to the end of it or only part way or not at all?

Well last night/ this morning I decided to spool my reels. I had bought 300yds of 15lb Fins Braid. I was only expecting it to fill 1 spool and have a little bit left over. Well I spooled one up so there was about 2-3mm space to the edge of the spool. Then I started on the spare spool which took pretty much exactly the same amount of line. The box says it will take 240m which is 260 yards i think. Anyway, I think my spool of braid was a bit more than 300yds. Im not complaining though, $40 well spent

Yea thats were I got the Aernos from. The aernos has curved sides where the ling sites on both top and bottom which I am not sure about either??
-
Well, today I was finally able to wet a line after 3-4 months without doing so. First went to glenelg. Tried around all the spots mentioned in the previous posts but got nothing. Very frustrating when you can see stonker bream enquiring at your lure and then swimming away. After that I went to Port Adelaide. Fished around New Port for a donut though. thinking I might go out tomorrow and see if I can hook something else. Mayby a Snapper of OH Breakwater

So I was able to pick up a new Shimano Aernos 400 today which is pretty cool. I have 300yds of braid wbut unsure how much to put on it. What is the best way of knowing how much is enough line on the reel??
