  1. I believe the space occupied by the present Toilet, Rigging Area and Shop will be developed into a Fenced Compound with Facilities to cater for the needs of the new berths. EG: Storage Sheds, Toilets and Showers for the Berth Tennants plus waste sullage.??Some parking lots will be lost in the car park, this may be for the shop but nothing solid about a public toilet??

  2. Can't see why Bruce has been chosen to "lead by example" when all he's doing is contributing.I'd have to agree that from the mathematical ability and command of english displayed, you already know your own answers so why persist ???

  3. Yep, agree with those comments and I wouldn't want to fish where I wasn't welcome either but I hate "Big Brother" attitudes too. So what is the By-Law/Legislation these "Security" guys are enforcing and by what Authority, has anyone got any firm details on this Eg:- what offence is being committed??

  4. I'd be checking with the Charles Sturt Council, get an update on the rules/by-laws. These may have changed or conversley may NOT even be legislation. If what occured is as stated it definately reeks of intimidation particularly when no Law was cited nor by what authority these Goons act on. Some-one is "Sanctioning" this but who and by what right???If there is legislation and authority supporting their actions I would have thought they would need to call the Police to move you or show you their "Authority to Arrest" and state the Legislation under which you were "offending".Again, if the actions were as stated then in my opinon you would have a case for Assault & Intimidation, the way the torches use is described would probably constitute "Assault"Other than that, what is the point of having a Lake if it can't be used in a responsible manner by a responsible person??

  5. [i:2mgmb5p8]I mainly want to know this for rods up to 7 foot which are used for boat,jetty[/i:2mgmb5p8]You may have answered your own question?? IMO it this scenario is one suited to a "general purpose" rod rather than a "specialised" outfit. In that, you are probaly correct, Silstars, Uglies, Penns etc. will all suit this without the need to spend big dollars. They also tend to be much more "abuse" friendly than the 'specialised" rigs. The only thing needed to consider is the Line Weight and "comfort", Eg:- Tommies or Snapper, does the curve give ya control, is the butt giving enough "purchase" or is the rod Over-powering ya, will it "Lift" the catch etc. These Rods generally cover a broad range of "useage" and 2 or 3 will probaly suit all fishing as described. One can still spend Mega Bucks for this but IMO it is not necessary to do so for "General Purpose" jetty & boat.Having said that, I trust people can understand that one wouldn't use a "dedicated" Soft Plastics rod to cast a patternoster rig or berley float from a Jetty. This is where the Dollar kicks in, the outfit has to be capable of casting the lightest weight yet strong enough to handle the pull/weight of the fish. The rod tip must recover quickly from casting rebound, be light enough to hold and cast for long periods and feel like an extension of your own arm. Generally, one would need several of these rods, each matching a certain line class and cast weight. These rods a far less forgiving than the "General Purpose" and cannot be abused as such.In a nutshell, it is really " Specialised & Balanced Tackle" versus '' General Purpose", ya won't find to much "Specialist" tackle in the "Chain Stores".In so far as "difference" goes, one only has to go to a tackle store and "feel" the difference between the costs. IMO, some are a bit over the top as I don't think some rods are that much better than it's counterpart, but the same can be said for cars and otherPS:- I also have Silstar, Penn, Tica, Shimano etc, for Bait & Boat "General Purpose" but I also have "Custom Built" for Bait , Fly Rods, Soft Plastic, Hard Body and "Coarse" in the upper price bracket as well. Same with reels, I have my "General Purpose" and my "Specialised" {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif

  6. Daiwa is fine BUT, as I have said before, IMO the 2500 is too heavy for a 2-4 kg out-fit. Buy what ya want but at least try the 2000 on a rod first, I reckon ya might save yourself some heart-ache. Remember, a 2000 will balance nicely on any 2-4kg rod, short or long ( 6ft- 7ft ) {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif

  7. Caaaarn, every-one knows they are "Spirit Level" bubbles {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifYep, dead set, fish flatulence captured by specialist Divers and supplied to "Stanley" and other tool makers {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif

  8. Basically, any shore-based access to the river in that area is no longer available. Fences have been erected and the rivers bank from the O/Harbour Pilot Station around Pelican Point and down to Veitch Rd is now No-Go. The only access that MAY be available are from walking tracks accessed From Victoria Rd, but they may only cover the Mutton Cove Wild Life Sanctuary.Access by boat may still be OK??

  9. Repairs like that tend to put a "tight" spot into the working curve of the Rod. If the break is in the upper section of the rod, particularly near the tip then the "action' could also be effected by the stiffness of the join.A join in about the centre would be similar to any 2 piece but if the tip is involved I'd write it off or place a tip eye on the break and use it for a Squid rig {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif

  10. I have had similar thoughts about "the Wily Bream" and how they appear to become familiar with various "food" ( Bait/ Lures). The Bream take years to reach "Trophy" size and they need to be very cunning to attain that age, the same cunning that makes them a challenge to the Angler.IMO what we observe may be a "seasonal" behaviour pattern with Bream that coincides with the "seasons" of their food. I'd say it'd be reasonable that food such as worms, prawns, crustacea, whitebait etc. would all be on the Beams "preferrence" menu but subject to availability ?? (eg:- plenty of prawns around, lets leave the worms ).The answer may be in understanding the Breams feeding/ dietary habits then "matching the hatch". No point in throwing a worm at a fish that's eating prawns {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gifThis may also be the "fine line" between HB's and SP's where HB's are excellent shrimp and baitfish immitations I know of nothing that immitates a worm other than an SP??Just my thoughts {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
