i spotted a dead one floating on top of the water at the inlet a week or two ago.. no idea why or how they could be in there

i've found using Zman grubs in motor oil, or a similar colour works best for bream. i cast at pontoons and just let the grub sit on the bottom for 20 seconds if its not hit by then jig up it a couple times and let it sit. always been my method but if that fails try a constant slow retrieval casting at pontoons and you'll find one! also i use the lightest fleurocarbon leader, 6lb is what i use, and i connect it using an FG knot, or even just a uni to uni. im now trying to catch a lake mulloway on a soft plastic but having little luck so far.
