  • Many boats fished Proper Bay and the North Shore on the weekend for very few whiting. Better whiting came from the coast between Donnington and Taylors. Squid are being caught throughout local bays in good numbers. Garfish are still around for land based anglers in Boston Bay. Nannygai and blue morwong came from the Passage.

Now for what was biting and where

 

Elliston

Try around Talia for the larger Salmon and the jetty for Tommies and Squid.

 

Sheringa

Anglers fishing Sheringa’s beaches are reporting tommies, whiting, and mullet. Some 4 to 5 kilogram salmon are being caught from the salmon beaches.

 

Almonta / Gunyah Beach

Early mornings have been best for good size salmon.

 

Farm Beach

Out wide of Sir Isaacs boaties scored mixed bags of snapper, nannygai and the odd gummy shark. Whiting were found north of the beach.

 

Coffin Bay

Salmon trout are being caught from the local boat ramp, jetty and rock ledges.

 

Port Lincoln

Many boats fished Proper Bay and the North Shore on the weekend for very few whiting. Better whiting came from the coast between Donnington and Taylors. Squid are being caught throughout local bays in good numbers. Garfish are still around for land based anglers in Boston Bay. Nannygai and blue morwong came from the Passage.

 

Tumby Bay

Good size and numbers of whiting, sweep around 1kg, trevally and big squid were caught around the Group on the weekend.

 

Port Neill

The Port Neill jetty had good catches of tommies, garfish, squid, and a few snook, try early morning or late in the arvo for the best results. Boaties fishing the area are reporting king george whiting, off both northern and southern grounds.

 

Arno Bay

Boaties are reporting some great catches of squid and King George Whiting.

 

Cowell

King George Whiting were scarce outside Franklin Harbour. Yellowfin whiting in Franklin Harbour weren’t in big numbers but were big fish.
