Pictured is Jon Thompson with a nice Nannygai caught in deep water out from Coffin Bay. A few anglers have been out lately to get a good feed of these lovely fish.
Now for what was biting and where
Elliston / Sheringa
Try the jetty for Tommies, Garfish and Squid and the local beaches for Salmon. Sheringa has plenty of Salmon. Try the first beach for King George Whiting, Tommies, Mullet and Sweep off the rocks.
Almonta / Gunyah Beach
Some large Salmon have been reported at Almonta. Reports of fish up to 11 pounds have been received this week.
Gunyah Beach has also had some good size salmon.
Farm Beach
King George Whiting continue to be very consistent. Gummy and school sharks, nannygai, and snapper were found wide of Sir Isaacs.
Coffin Bay
King George Whiting up to 38cm in the bay. Dutton bay jetty had plenty of gar on high tide. The main jetty in coffins has salmon trout at all times of the day, and some squid are also being caught from the high tide through into the evening. The bay itself has some big garfish during calmer conditions, as well as plenty of King George Whiting. Anglers chased kingies hard before the marine park sanctuary zones came into effect on the first of October.
Port Lincoln
Schools of Salmon of varying sizes have been found along the Sleaford to Wanna beaches. Patience must be exercised at times as you wait for the schools to come in close enough to cast to. Metal lures, poppers and big soft plastics have been effective when you can reach the schools. King George Whiting were around Thistle Island, Taylors and the Lumps.
Tumby Bay
The group is proving to be a consistent area for big King George Whiting. Rugger snapper have been berleyed up on some whiting drops ranging in size from just legal to 3.5kg.
Port Neill
The boaties have been doing very well with good catches of Snook, Squid and large King George Whiting. Try the jetty / Breakwater for Tommies, Squid and Snook.
Arno Bay
The Boaties have been catching King George Whiting, Squid, Snook and the odd snapper in close. Try the jetty for Squid.
Cowell
Only a few quiet reports of Snapper out side the bay.
