  • The good weather over the weekend had plenty of anglers out and about. From all reports, most of those that fished over the weekend had moderate to good results. Out offshore, the Tuna don’t seem to have appeared yet, but there are good numbers of reef fish to keep boaties busy and well fed.

Remember to come in to Spot On and let us know how your fishing trip went and if you get a good picture or 2, send them to us at portlincoln@spotonfishing.com.au with the details and we will put them in the paper with the report.

Now for what was biting and where

Elliston / Sheringa
There are still plenty of good sized salmon from the surf beaches, both around Elliston and Sheringa.

There are boaties returning good reports on King George Whiting, and Squid from within Anxious bay.

The Elliston jetty is having anglers return good results if they are targeting Tommies, Garfish, and Squid.

Sheringa’s First beach has had reports of the odd Flathead, and some fat Tommies.

Almonta / Gunyah Beach
Not too many schools of Salmon are being spotted by anglers fishing Almonta and Gunya, however some decent fish were still caught. Most anglers did best using metal lures, casting into deep gutters, as well as using pilchards for burley.

Farm Beach
Boaties are doing well on King George Whiting and Nannygai from deeper water.

Coffin Bay
Sir Isaacs is going well on big Nannygai, blue morwong and silver trevally.

Within the bay, land based anglers are doing okay on Silver Trevally, Tommies, some Garfish, and the odd King George Whiting.

Port Lincoln
Boaties are doing well on King George Whiting throughout local bays, however beware that the shittys are showing up if you use to much burley, especially if it is pellet based. Try a crushed muscle mixture instead.

The Passage is going well on Nannygai and other reef species.

Not too many reports over the past week for Blue swimmer crabs, however some are still being caught on whiting lines in local bays.

Australian Salmon are hit and miss throughout the Lincoln national park, however most anglers using metal lures do return good results.

Tumby Bay
The group has been the spot for a few nice king george whiting. Cockles are the best bait with cruched mussel as berley.

Squid have been quiet in the bay, but the few being caught are of a good size.

Port Neill
Try the jetty for a mixed bag of fish. Squid, tommies, salmon trout and garfish have all been caught this week.

Arno Bay
With the snapper ban in place, boaties have concentrated on king george whiting and squid.

Not too many reports of blue swimmer crabs or yellowfin whiting yet, but they should be appearing soon.

Cowell
Anglers on the jetty and around the inner harbour have been finding the whiting and squid a bit scarce, but there are plenty of tommies around to keep them busy. There are some good sized snook and garfish being caught by boaties.
