Pictured is George Dashwood with a nice Salmon caught from the beach. George said that the use of berley in a berley bag was essential to keep the Salmon biting.
Now for what was biting and where
Elliston / Sheringa
Try the Elliston jetty for Tommies and squid. First beach at Sheringa has been good for Tommies, whiting, and mullet. The salmon beach has some fish up around the 4 – 5 kilogram mark, however most are averaging much smaller.
Almonta / Gunyah Beach
Big swell on the weekend made conditions harder to fish but some good size salmon were still caught on both pilchards and metal lures.
Farm Beach
Legal King George Whiting can be found if prepared to move about from long nose to sir Isaacs just remember to check size as there are a lot of small ones around. Northern grounds are also producing good whiting catches.
Coffin Bay
Plenty of Tommies, Salmon Trout and smaller King George Whiting have been reported in the bay.
Port Lincoln
Salmon are being caught by boaties fishing the Proper Bay, as well as some larger fish coming from the Sleaford to Wanna coastline. Halco Outcast lures have accounted for quite a few of these salmon during the week. Smaller squid are being caught from local jetties in good numbers. Yamashita King George Whiting jigs have been working well for larger squid in deeper water. Snook are being seen during the evening; however anglers are having difficulty hooking them.
Tumby Bay
From the jetty, a few Squid are being caught. Boaties chasing King George Whiting have been doing well fishing around the group with most around 35 to 40cm.
Port Neill
The jetty and breakwater has Tommies, Garfish, and Squid in good numbers. Salmon are being caught from the southern beaches.
Arno Bay
Squid are being caught from the bay, along with a few Salmon Trout at times. Boaties are doing well chasing King George Whiting.
Cowell
Yellowfin Whiting are being caught along the beaches outside Franklin Harbour.
