  • Big Garfish and Tommies from the Jettys, along with some squid during the day and into the night.

     

    Lots of undersized Blue Swimmer Crabs with a few legal ones are being caught in Boston and Proper Bays.

     

    Try the main wharf for King George Whiting, Silver Trevally, salmon trout and Blue Swimmer Crabs.

     

    There are still plenty of Salmon trout and Tommies working the baitfish schools in the afternoons, just look for the birds working close to shore.

Peter “Sharky” Sharland was relaxing with a drink out the front of his house in the Tumby Bay Marina. Using squid for bait on a whiting rig he hooked and landed this 84cm mulloway. A celebratory brew after and Sharky went on to land a nice flathead as well!

 

Now for what was biting and where

 

Elliston / Sheringa

Try the Elliston jetty for Tommies and Squid. Anxious bay boaties are reporting King George Whiting.

 

First beach at Sheringa had reports of good sized Tommies, Mullet, King George Whiting and the odd Flathead. Minimal reports of salmon had come through the shop for this side of the coast.

 

Almonta / Gunyah Beach

The Golden Island end of Almonta has had schools of big salmon being caught by anglers fishing with pilchards and lures. Anglers fishing the Gunyah stretch found salmon around trout size up to 2kg and big tommies.

 

Farm Beach

A few good sized King George Whiting, Mullet and Tommies are coming from the beach.

 

Boaties fishing this area also reported catches of King George Whiting however did mention a lot of undersized fish had to be returned to the water.

 

Coffin Bay

The main jetty has had good reports of plump Salmon trout and plenty of Snook in the bay. A few Tuna are starting to be caught offshore, with anglers reporting 4-5kg fish around Reef Head, and a few showing up at Greenly and Rocky Islands around 10kg.

 

Port Lincoln

Tumby Bay

The group still seems to be firing for good sized King George Whiting if anglers are persistent and move around to locate the fish.

 

Port Neill

A few bags limits of Whiting were caught on grounds north and south along with big Snook. The jetty and breakwater had big Tommies up to 25cm, Squid and Garfish in the early morning. Salmon up to 2kg came from Carrow Wells.

 

Arno Bay

Boaties are reporting good catches of Squid and King George Whiting.

 

Cowell

Yellowfin Whiting are being caught from the beaches outside the harbour. Boaties are reporting good catches of King George Whiting and Snook but Trumpeters are out in force. Good catches of Blue Swimmer Crabs are also being reported.

 

Port Lincoln Anglers Club

The club will be attending a ‘6 of a species competition’ / Pat Prow memorial at Coles Point / Greenly this Sunday the 23rd of November. Members and visitors are welcome to attend leaving the clubrooms in Kemp Ave at 8am.
