Now for what was biting and where
Elliston / Sheringa
Salmon are being caught from the beaches, varying in size, with some fish up to 4kg being caught. Don’t forget that the Elliston Salmon Comp ends on the 31st of August, so you only have 2 weeks before you run out of time. The Elliston jetty also has had reports of nice garfish in the area.
Almonta / Gunyah Beach
Early mornings have been best for salmon with some weighing up to 10 lbs.
Farm Beach
Whiting were caught in reasonable size and numbers over the weekend, more so on the northern drops.
Coffin Bay
Salmon trout are being caught from the local boat ramp, jetty and rock ledges.
Port Lincoln
Squid are being caught throughout local bays in good numbers and size, generally whilst the tide is increasing or sunset. Boaties have reported better King George Whiting catches during evening sessions. Garfish are still around for land based anglers in Boston Bay.
Tumby Bay
Anglers fishing the Sir Joseph Banks Group have been more than happy with the numbers of whiting and squid.
Arno Bay
Whiting fishing has improved markedly with good size and numbers being caught by boat anglers.
Cowell
Plenty of King George Whiting are being caught in close.
