  • Sleaford to Wanna has seen Salmon up to 4kg. Most have been around the 2kg mark when the swell allows you to fish.

Local Jettys have seen some big Tommies & Garfish through the day and into the night. Blue Swimmer Crabs have been good, but there are a lot of small ones about, so make sure you check your catch before putting it in the bag. There have been a few boats heading out wide targeting an early run of small Bluefin Tuna. These fish fish are around the 8Kg mark and have been caught on all sorts of lures, jigs and large Soft Plastics.

Blake Peak caught this Snook at Thistle Island that was weighed at 3Kg. Jackson Smith was lucky enough to get a double header of a 43 and 49cm King George Whiting out at Thistle as well. Good work Jackson.

Now for what was biting and where

Elliston / Sheringa

Tommies, Squid and Gar have been good this week.

The Salmon have been very patchy at Locks Well and off the beaches, but there are lots of King George Whiting and Flathead to make up for the lack of Salmon.

Almonta / Gunyah Beach

Only a few reports of Salmon this week. The schools of Salmon are still being seen by anglers, but they seem to be hanging a long way out from the shore.

Farm Beach

We have had a few reports of good sized King George Whiting this week and Sand crabs have been a popular target as well. King George Whiting have been around in good numbers, but there are lots of undersized ones in the shallow water. Fish in the deeper water to find the larger fish. There have also been large numbers of Silver Trevally all through the area, these fish are great fun to target on light gear and will take all sorts of baits and lures.

Coffin Bay

The Salmon Trout have been thick when the pilchard boats are unloading from the jetty.

Not many reports of Nannygai this week, but they should be around. Small tuna were around Rocky, Greenly, the Hummocks, Point Whidbey and Reef Head.

Port Lincoln

Sleaford to Wanna has seen Salmon up to 4kg. Most have been around the 2kg mark when the swell allows you to fish.

Tumby Bay

Small to medium sized Silver Trevally in the Marina. Possibly a few legal sized Mulloway as we have had reports of 2 caught in the last 2 weeks.

Port Neill

Some good reports from the Port Neill jetty and beaches this week. Garfish, Yellowfin Whiting, Squid, Tommies, Snook and plenty of Salmon Trout are around. Boaties have needed to move around to get good bags of King George Whiting, but if they put in the effort, they are getting a good feed with most of the Whiting being of a good size.

Arno Bay

King George Whiting and Squid have been caught by anglers waiting for the Snapper Ban to end.

Cowell

Numbers of Blue Swimmer Crabs are on the improve and King George Whiting have been consistent but trumpeters are in Franklin Harbour.

There have also been some reports of good sized Snook around, so keep a lure handy.
