  • This is going to be very short as next weeks report you will need to print out and read in your own time. As the snapper season has opened I thought we would concentrate on that for the people that want to get snapper ready for Christmas.

METROSome good reports have come in with fish being caught around the Broadway and Brighton. Kayaks have been doing well also. Best times is very early morning or late afternoons. Fish are ranging from big ruggers to just over the 60cm mark. From North Haven there are some nice fish west around 25-30kms out. John Rob and the Ballast at night are always worth a try. Burley lots to get them going. Crabs have only got better and are as far south as Glenelg. Try down there and betwenn Semaphore and Largs. While garfish are finiky north they are biting better south around West Beach and Glenelg. Some nice mulloway have been hooked in the Port river also along with some nice size bream.

YORKE PENINSULAEdithburgh has some nice snapper out in the channel and south of the Sultana passage. Black Point turned it on with the snapper last night with people getting bags of bigs and smalls. Ardrossan has some nice schools to keep you happy. Had no reports out from Hughes but there was good signs of Jurassic having fish. Good fish were out 40km west of Balgowan and most of the wrecks did well. Whiting are still doing well from Hughes down to Port Vic and has been a very good summer season for them. Edithburgh also has some nice whiting but not in big numbers. Crabs and garfish are in full swing and are coming off most northern towns. Squid have been a bit slower but Rickaby, Edithburgh, Wool Bay and Marion Bay are the better spots.
Mulloway have been caught at Gleeson's, Berry and a couple near the Dust Hole.

SOUTH
Salt Creek is experiencing one of the best seasons for mulloway with consistent reports coming in. Coorong is doing the same for the soapies along with some larger specimens being caught. Lots of salmon have been a by catch at Newland Head but there is still tuna around in smaller pods.

FRESHWATER
The Murray is really firing on the callop with some very nice specimens coming in. For the kids there is some very large carp. Yabbies have been very hard to find but the shrimp have been better for callop bait. We keep running out of Night Crawlers at the shop due to the success on the callop.

Short, sharp and shiny until next week.

Happy Snapper fishing to all
