  • Wishing you all a Safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The Dorsal Fin Team.

WE WILL BE OPEN CHRISTMAS DAY for people wanting a fish or your heading off for the holidays.

METRO
Crabs have been in good numbers off Semaphore, Largs, St Kilda, North of Black Pole and even off Glenelg. Snapper season went off with a bang with most people getting some nice fish before the tides slowed. Now that the tides have picked up they should be back on the bite. The Broadway had some nice fish along with some fish coming off the John Robb and up near the Goannas. Garfish have been large but reluctant to continue to bite around the Semaphore grounds but better catches have been coming from West Beach and Brighton. Whiting catches have been slow but there are fish out from West Beach and Glenelg with a few coming from the Norma wreck but the fish are small. Squid continue to do well off West Beach and Brighton, Semaphore off the Bower Road end has squid in deeper water around the 8 metre mark. Yellowfin whiting are being caught off most beaches along with some garfish early in the mornings. The Port River has some nice mulloway along with some big bream. The Onkaparinga is still doing well on bream and school mulloway and mullet. West lakes has Bream along with some garfish being caught down the southern end.

Salt Creek continues to have a great season on the mulloway. There has also started to get some nice gummies moving in. The Coorong is pretty well the same with good catches of soapies being caught. Waitpinga was a bit slow but should pick up if we get a good blow. There is still some salmon trout in the area. Tuna have been caught around the New Headland area and some near the Pages in amongst the salmon.

FRESHWATER
Now that the water levels have stabalised the callop have really turned it on around Blanchetown, Big Bend, Mannum, Cadel and Cobdogla. There has been a couple of reports that Renmark is doint the same along with some Cod being hooked by mistake. Yabbies have been dismal but as someone said last week, the irrigation channels may be worth a try. For the kids there is plenty of carp for them to have some fun.

Merry Christmas again to all and tight lines from The Dorsal Fin Team. We really appreciate your support.

DON'T FORGET WE ARE OPEN ALL DY CHRISTMAS DAY AND NEW YEARS DAY :)
