Help with shark fishing

I just purchased a Penn Senator 9 0 and have spooled it with probably 650 + yards of 100 lb braid. Will this be big enough when targetting sharks? Also how will this handle bigger sharks? and finally, will I need to spool it with any more line or is this fine?By the way, i do have a 37 kg rod, 200 lb mono shock leader and wire trace so im not concerned about them Thanks

hey mate myself personally wouldnt use braid for big sharks id be spooling it with 50lb mono. but thats me just one word of advie take some gloves coz i could see it being painfull... haha goodluck mate cheers tp

haha yeah i realised that after i bought it and thought a may as well use it now that i have it. do you recon 800 metres would do the trick for some biggies?

It will.I would upgrade the drag to carbontec so you can at least put some decent pressure on the fish. And a harness...Braid is fine for sharking its just expensive when you get snapped off when a boat runs over your line 400 metres away because they cant see it.cheers

if you can afford the 60 bucks get the drag upgraded at SFS, id be puting 50 pound yo zuri on there but thats just my opion but 100 pound braid would do the jobthat should be ample for local bronzies, might get done at stenhouse or down yorkes but should be fine mategeting late in the season now
