whyallabrad 0
Good reels, just watch out for water getting into the drag system and affecting the drags performance. As for a rod it depends what line class and what sort of fishing you want to do with it???????
luke_southoz 0
Hmm... I'm thinking about using it as a mully/snapper reel, It came with 50lb braid on it but i think that will be coming off payday, Not too sure what i will put on it, Defiantly going to be braid though for more line capacity. I'm leaning towards a sensor surf rod, $150 new and feel pretty good
plankton 725
I've got a couple of the International baitcasters, a 965 and a 975 (non LD) and they are fantastic reels, can't beat the Penn HT 100 drags. That being said, they do not make good surf reels, water and especially sand are not their friends, the levelwind mechanism is the biggest problem, so the CS model of the 975 might be better in that respect. The are excellent boat reels though, my 975 is loaded with about 500 yds of 40 pound braid, back in the US I used it for jigging in deeper water and for throwing lures to tuna. Haven't got a boat (or a mate with one either) here so I haven't really used it for local fishing, but it would be great for the species you mention as well as school tuna and kingfish.
