breambo25 1
What sort of gear do you have? Before you start fishing you should probably visit a tackle shop and try and organise a strong, heavy- duty combo that will be able to handle sharks off the land. Probably needs to be around the 15-24kg mark?In terms of locations for sharking I would say the more popular spots in the metro area are Semaphore, Henley and Grange. ekul 0
ive got a 6ft overhead boat rod 50lb braid sambo 3000 reel it holds about 400m of lineSorry what do you mean by that? Are you using a overhead rod with a egg beater? :S But anyway, any 15 to 24kg rod good reel with a solid smooth drag. Off the jetty i would recommend minimum 600m of 24kg or 800m of 30lb and set your drag correctly using a hand scale. You could land them without using all of that line, but it all depends on how it wants to play. But i wouldnt feel confident using any less than that.Look for something like a penn 6/0, 9/0 ( used ) or 900h, If you have a bit more to spend, look at a tld50.
