Langley 30 Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2012 yeh went down bout 2;30 it was blowing like anything and went to peter whitings bait and tackle and he recommended some import cockles im not a fan ( i like the goolwa cockles as i find their better) but dad said that we'd give them a go and i got some size six hooks and we just went in the shallows nothing for a good half hour and then all of a sudden we started getting a run of juvenile whiting and then i hooked onto to something with a bit of weight i thought i foul hooked a fish or had a crab then it started giving a few headshakes and then pulled it up and it was a very healthy yellow fin whiting weighing about 250g and that was on the import cockles and put my line back out and we reckon that a dolphin came past and spooked em all off coz there was nothing else all in all pretty good anzac day Quote Link to post Share on other sites
wishing2Bfishing 0 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Share Posted April 26, 2012 nice job on the yellowfin, i have to say though that i agree with you about the imported cockles, i tried them once, never again, the ones i got were all shell, there was hardly any actual cockle in them. oh well least i know now!
