Kelvin 2,212
During the summer, garfish and tommies come in shallow at night and can be caught just below the surface. A pencil float is useful, but more fish are caught by casting further out using a weighted buley float. Bites are felt rather than seen, and the best float to use is one which can be packed with burley and cast out a long way. Here is a popular design which I made.First I get some foam balls, pen body and some wire http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/2WVJtNqA__DSC01446.JPG[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/ioQE8bZj__DSC01447.JPG[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/U9JSfo4O__DSC01448.JPG[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/RPFZ1hq3__DSC01450.JPG[/img]

pescados 1
Similar to Kelvin's, I have been using mine for about 2 yrs now,At night it floats on top and during daylight I add a sinker to the main line and takes it down to the bottom but the cork rises so the hooks are of the bottom as well.Mine is made out of wine corks or champagne corks cut down ( nope I don't partake ).Spring is made out of about 2 mm galv wire wound on a 6 mm former and turns out about 10 mm in dia, both ends are bent into a small loop, corks are pushed over the loop and given a 1/4 turn. http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/PedpvK95__float1.jpg[/img]
pescados 1
This is my latest effort for night fishing, float is same as before except the back cork has a groove in it to take a piece of a biro (use one with screw top)about 50 mm long and it glued into the cork, on the other side a small slit is made and a thin piece of galv metal 25 mm long about 10-12 mm wide and it glued into the bottom of cork, without it the cork will turn and light will be on bottom instead of top.Once in the water you will be able to see it for some distance.light source is a light stick 4.5 mm x 40 mm. http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/elqE274s__float_4.jpg[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/EGi2ulsE__float_3.jpg[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/BnGHne5f__float_3.jpg[/img] http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/aY6xYTYc__float_2.jpg[/img]
