Fishie 98
Howdy all, a few of the snapper I've been catching lately have been full of roe... is there a way of determining if a snapper is a female in roe as I'd prefer to release them unharmed rather than get them home and gut them only to find they have roe. Obviously a fish with a larger than normal stomach size perhaps could be in roe but there's also the chance it just had a decent feed
afishyfish 4
Definitely a hard one to answer for us laymen Fishie, but a very good ( and ethical ) question.I wonder if someone from PIRSA could advise you. maybe a marine scientist or Biologist.I wouldnt trust the fact that one may be wearing lipstick; it might be a metrosexual snapper ! YoBBo 0
Damm I saw something on tv about this recently, but cant remember. The scientist was a marine biologist from the aquaculture industry.I would sugest giving that mob at west beach a call. Surely someone there could answer it.
