Guest SnappaHunta
I'm putting this black hole of a winter behind me ( 3 trips left) and looking forward to a productive spring. It feels like this winter has been extra cold, so I hope our gulf waters warm nicely as per usual. Now, around my birthday (oct) my fishing diary tells me I have a date with some tasty 40cm yellowfin whiting! Some one in a fishing store told me they should be making an appearance soon, but I haven't caught them this early before and the water is very bloody cold. Anyway, would love to know when they rock up, Should they be here end of august? ( find this hard to believe)Last years yellowfin whiting were something special at my landbased spot, I even landed my PB of 43cm...

Kelvin 2,215
I have seen them in August before, but not in any numbers. I usually don't go for them till we get at least 2 straight weeks of hot weather (usually October)
