blightmadi69 0
Hi allJust a quick question and hunting for thoughts, Has been really tough on sp's lately ( Onk and Pat ) I am finding it real difficult with the wind and being able to get distance and accuracy casting. I always fish as light as possible but it frustrating. The heaviest Jighead i use is 1/12th with No 1 hook.(which I feel to heavy) I was wandering if it would be to heavy to go to 1/8th and if not how that would change my retrieval methods. This weight would deffinately fix my casting distance and accuracy. Might sound a simple/stupid question maybe but i need all the help i can get to get back on the board.Blighty
batesmotel 5
You can do a number of things to help distance like if you reduce your line diameter, use a longer rod, change the type of plastic or cast a different way. I realise these are not always affordable solutions but something to think about.
brenton 637
are you using braid because with those weight jigheads you should be casting a mile depending on the s/p of course.I've never fished heavier than 1/16th but if the wind is not favorable its better to fish Hard bodies and be in contact with your lure. cheers brenton

brenton 637
the 1000 reel wouldn't help because of the number of coils that are coming of the spool when casting. cheers brenton
